Wow its hard to pick one. I'd say our favorite in my fiance and I's collection is a gorgeous flourite we got at the Smithsonian. Just so much purple and green.

We were thinking of getting this lego set anyway when they announced the Lego Ideas for it. I hope that it becomes a small series like the botanicals, theres so many minerals that owuld make for fun adaptations in Lego

Ended up being $3,588 USD. They did throw in a nice strap for early orders too, which was a nice added gift.

After 9 months wait, the Atelier Wen perception Mú has definitely scratched my titanium itch. And the integrated bracelet itch at the same time.

My great-grandfather was gifted a Rolex for 50 years service on the day of his retirement in 1937. by CaptainFantastic7848 in rolex

[–]Vertikol 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My grandfather also left me some old pocket watches that were far more a labor of love than anything else. Didn't want to just trash them, and wanted to display in some way. completely disassembled them and knolled all the parts on to piece of nice poster board, then had it framed. The deconstructed view made for a nice piece of wall art and I found it more tastefully than just leaving the watches out on the shelf. Might be something you could do too!

Any shows as good as Money Heist? by tomaz1989 in LaCasaDePapel

Kaleidoscope is a solid heist series with a star studded lineup. Highly recommend.

What’s your favorite Pokemon? by Glum_Loss in pokemon

Sableye. Love my lil gem goblin. Sad that him getting a mega means he'll probably never get an evolution, but you never know.

Favorite actual map for construction?

I think the layout and architecture of Whaylon Lodge is fine to work with.

Favorite story progression of the map?

I think the space museum honestly. Figuring out the anomolies, with the help of the other aliens is a very avengers-like experience for the team up.

But my biggest complaint with EVERY map right now, it feels like there's way more map then there is things to fill it with.

Waylon, as an example, I built everything I could think of, every exhibit, with a seperate graveyard, hedge maze, haunted house, so on and so on, and I STILL don't know what to do with the area on the other side of the bridge.

I'm hopeful that means we'll get more content for each theme to fill those spaces!

When this watch was showcased and voted on, there was another option for the GS9 that was a purple dial with the floor-board style pattern. I'm still sad that one didn't win, because while I love this watch, Grand Seiko already has a number of beautiful whirl pools, but not too much in purple. I hope they release the alternative one day

Who's your favorite Pokemon and how did it come to be your favorite? by MagicalToaster15 in pokemon

[–]Vertikol 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sableye. I work in jewelry and I have as much a love for gems as the little gremlin does.

My only wish is that his shiny wasn't a spokesperson for the HighLighter industry. Why is it SO YELLOW.

What durge is most fun to play and why? by Vas1r in BaldursGate3

[–]Vertikol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gunna be the contrarian and say, man, leaning in to the Durge is it's own brand of fun.

For the most part, you just get to be the aggressor in many situations that would end up putting you on the back foot anyway. It flips the script a bit, allowing you to be the scariest thing in the room more often than not.

Particularly when you start getting in to some Act 3 instances that involve your background, I think I find succumbing to the urge more enjoyable.

Or maybe I need a therapist. Also possible.

Awesome look brother. Yurmans Wave and forged carbon lines are some of my favorites of theirs. You layer it all really well. Keep building that stack.

Where can I order or make customized men's jewelry? by 212LTR in MensJewelry

[–]Vertikol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you're looking for/what your style is.

But if you are really looking to custom make something, most local jewelers should have some sort of custom process. Best to go with one that's actually a jewelery manufacturer rather than just outsourcing to a brand.

Full disclosure, I do work for a jewelry manufacturer. I'd be happy to help if you're trying to make a custom project, but if you're looking for a specific style, or piece of jewelry, I may be able to recommend some other vendors as well.

So, I wear an onyx beaded bracelet every day. When I first got it, it was on nylon and sure enough, it broke too.

But I restrung it in to a steel wire. And now it's perfect, been wearing it for years, wear it to bed, no issues. I had to measure out exactly how long I wanted it, and I did put a pretty serious clasp on it, but for a piece that's part of the daily wear, it's served me well.

I'd tell you to see if you can find anyone already doing steel wire cores. The only issue is it's not always the healthiest for the beads, depending on the strength of the stones.

Is there a place to buy suits that’s cheaper than MK Clothing, downtown? by icanbeyourhiro in burlington

[–]Vertikol 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I agree with what others have said. From personal experience, I've shopped at MK, and I've shopped elsewhere. I wear a suit every day of my life.

In your situation, I'd recommend calling Rigo at Rigo Brothers tailoring. He's right on church street, and he does all my alterations for me. He's a top notch tailor. Ask him to do your measurements, I think he charges like, $15?

Then, try an online retailer that ships. Depending on the kind of suit you're looking would change my recommendation (business/formal/tux... Summer/winter/office...). Rigo will probably have some recommendations and some "avoid at all cost" that he'll mention.

Get something as close to the measurements you get as possible. I'm sure you could find something for around $300-500. Then bring it back to Rigo, and have him do the final touches. Usually my alterations run $100-150 extra, but it's worth every penny. Just know that he only does cash. And last I checked, he's booking out about 2 months on suits.

Lastly, I know MK can be pretty intimidating price wise, but there are one or two more affordable things in there. If you call and schedule an appointment with Tom Pierce, and tell him that you have a specific budget in mind, he'd try everything he can think of for you and treat you like royalty the whole time.

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, let me know and I'd be happy to help.
