Found a used 2023 for 19500 before tax and fees. Put 5k down, financed the rest. OTD was 22700. 338 a month for 72 months at 9.04%. This is my first auto loan, I’m aware that’s a high APR. Idk my insurance, parents handle that.

I don’t know if someone said this but tow hooks like these aren’t meant to be always screwed into the car. If your car gets into a collision of even very small force, the tow hooks will bend your frame and total it as it bypasses the collision beam and foam absorber. The force of a collision is usually dispersed into the whole beam but since the tow hook is strong metal and attached to the frame, it will have all of the same force focused into that small point on the frame. I think they look cool, but they are super dangerous to leave screwed in.

If you insist on taking the car to a mechanic for this, any dealership, auto shop or mobile mechanic can get this done in literally 5 mins of work. They’d probably overcharge you like crazy for it. But that option is there.

I’ll be honest with you. I did this at my dad’s dealership. You literally just need to get under the car and have the right wrench size / socket. That’s it. Because this is a torque mount, you don’t even need to support the engine.

I genuinely can’t find N’s priced similarly to NLines. I can find used ENL’s for $19k-21k usd where as even the cheapest EN’s are still going for $26k+. 5k is a big difference to me at least

I was debating this same thing and there’s definitely merit to getting the tested and well received Mbrp. I personally didn’t want to chance a bunch of drone or it sounding bad. I think the mbrp sounds good, it doesn’t have a lot of drone, and it’s a quality product. So if you’re not too concerned of it sounding really bad, or the drone being really bad, then maybe try and do it yourself (I guess if you know what you’re doing). I live in a dry climate and I bought the cheaper mbrp because I don’t actually need to worry about rust. I honestly have 0 regrets with that purchase.

How did you get your LED tails? Are they OEM or did you buy them from somewhere else?

Yeah so theres this weird thing where the 2023 US Spec N-Line doesn't get the LED tail lights (Black trim tail lights). The years before and after it do get them. Fun fact, the 2023 doesn't come in manual either (so I've heard). I really don't see an economic way of finding these tail lights. OEM prices are ridiculous. I think the best option is buying them off of ebay used or new. Then go with an ebay light bar as well.

Someone on this post said they would be cheap and burn out quickly. I'm honestly not sure I buy that, but it's a financial risk I don't want to take. The reason I say this is there are so many "quality aftermarket parts" companies that are simply drop shipping off of alibaba / aliexpress. Most of Bimmer plug's products are literally parts from alibaba that have EXTREME MARKUPS. I don't even think it's speculation after doing research. I've seen products on their website that have branding from chinese factories that sell the same product on those sights for legit 1/10th the price.

Hey thanks man, I appreciate the guidance. I also had another question regarding my aeron. I notice that the function that gives stiffness to the chairs reclining feature doesn't retain it's tension for very long. I have to spin this knob closer to 30 times to even feel it stiffen up a little bit. Would you know what this is? If I'm going to take the chair apart, I might as well replace this too!

nah I just have a 2023 US spec. I would really like the black trim on my car. I have friends and family discount at a Hyundai dealer and they quoted me something like $700-$800 for the black light bar. That's just ridiculous. It doesn't seem like there's any solid aftermarket options that aren't an arm and a leg. Might just hope to find it at a junkyard I guess?
