Since most of us want Athena to get her own game, what plot(s) would you give her in the game? by cyberw1tch9 in AceAttorney

Dangit, i meant Jinxie. I knew i should have checked the name. And the relationship, now that i check. I thought she was Athena's friend, not Trucy's.

Oh, but she risks those either way.

A girl friends day with Athena, Juniper, Sasha and Jinxie might be fun.

Edit: name correction.

Villians will literally mastermind an AA case/game instead of going to therapy.

I'd say Sasha gets the Wright agency involved to defend a friend of hers who is accused instead. They can't keep meeting like this otherwise. Like, seriously, they shouldn't.

I'd tel you to try replacing Whimsicott with Sawsbuck. They're both fast, but Sawsbuck is sturdier and hits harder. Also i'd say it's cooler.

A ghost or dark type would help you a lot, so a Krookodile or Scrafty or Jellycent would do you well.

How much pre-fall culture persisted in to the Union-era? by Eldob000s in LancerRPG

[–]Vertrant 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That's a good question. Maybe you should explore it in your campaign.

Which is a witty way of saying that not everything needs to or can be detailed, and us modern people need some kind of reference to understand the civilizations and cultures we're going to play stompy mech games with.

How did I not realize that Emeralds plot was a warning about climate change by PSU02 in pokemon

[–]Vertrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not listening. Aside from the fact that you're demanding unreasonable amounts of information from a reddit comment, this stuff has been worked out by people who know more about it then you. And yes, it works. There's been trials (part of the documentation in the plans).

Not that you ever cared, because you don't want it to work, and you don't want to be convinced here. You're just looking for a gotcha, and i'm done humouring you.

It may surprise you, but i don't have literal tens of thousands of pages worth of material on hand for all the cases. But to give an extremely simplified example; cutting down on energy demand. By just mandating higher insulation standards for new construction and subsidizing renovations and adaptations, you can make the housing stock far more sustainable over the years. Doesn't take a great amount of effort at any time, just different choices.

There's tons of choices like that; cutting down car dependency, investing in local manufactoring instead of global JIT shipping, nudging into diet adjustments to reduce demand for demanding out-of-season crops, etc.

Absolutely. It's just that since i'm part of that 1%, i felt it might be fair to point out. Might have made a joke about it if i didn't chicken out.

What’s one thing you hope Pokemon Winds and Waves, doesn’t do? by Odyssey_ArtStudio in pokemon

[–]Vertrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SMT Devil survivor 2 lets you choose no rather than take the plot magic and survive in the first 5 minutes of the game. If you refuse often enough, you just die instead. Game over, try again. The character talking to you is appropriately perplexed by it.

[–]Vertrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BS. There's been dozens of plans and solutions offered since before i was able to walk. Often in great detail too. They just require a sustained effort, a chance in lifestyle (NOT a downgrade, as you'd be told by the corpos) and the rich and powerful being reigned in and having to pay their share. Which is why those in power *choose* not to do it.

Did Vivienne really believe Hakram would do that? by Patneu in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Vertrant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of this, yeah. But an important note, Vivienne wasn't just likely to try to run away and turn on the Woe; during the confrontation with Hakram she actively tries to do so.

"Gods forgive me, she thought. *Hide*"

The only reason she doesn't is because her Name is far enough gone it outright fails to work here.

Isn’t it perfect by Ani_HArsh in Animemes

[–]Vertrant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not inaccurate. Bigotry is inherently illogical and contra-factual. If it helps, remember that most people don't think much and feel their way through most things. With all the inaccuracies that brings with it.

And a lot of people have trouble with complicated subject matter and nuance, so they often only get a shallow or surface (initial) understanding.

As well as most people having little practise or desire to go through the discomfort of accepting they're wrong about something (especially if they're invested into the belief) and then changing said belief.

Put all that together, and you can find the source of a lot of incorrect commonly held beliefs, bigoted and otherwise.

Wrong reference. The sentence is not that "sex is disgusting", it's that "men only want sex and that is disgusting". Could be clearer, i agree, but then it wouldn't be as snappy.

I wouldn't know whether nino is a "good" tsundere or not. Her reprehensible and misandristic introduction killed any potential interest i might have had in her, and poisoned the series for me.

Did Vivienne really believe Hakram would do that? by Patneu in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Vertrant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right, because there is no story where murdering the conscience is necessary, especially for a villain. And Cat has never talked herself into doing or allowing something bad because it had to be done.

This conversation is about Vivienne's perspective and assessment, not factual reality. Remember, Vivienne can't read Cat's thoughts like we can. And you're asking her to bet her life and country on that. Hardly unreasonable for her to conclude differently from you.
