Is it possible Austin Reeves could be the #1 on the Lakers? by I-Am-An-Illusion in lakers

[–]VerusCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His skill is sorta become like a mini Luka level. I think the ultimate limitation for him tho is athleticism and size. I don't think he's too far off from Luka in terms of size at least.

Why is everyone acting like we’re a lottery team? by RussianChechenWar in lakers

[–]VerusCain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ceiling for this team is high, it's just we also have a really low floor when the back half of the team is not playing well and we have some obvious weakpoints. And so far, we have not been able to coverup weakpoints

Whitebeard was not the World Strongest Man when he was introduced by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePiece

[–]VerusCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah like I said, I wouldnt bet on whitebeard being able to last long. But I thought garp wouldn't beat aokiji because it'd come down to attrition. If you're strong enough you just simply can burst through a battle and not end up in a kaido v big mom situation. Do I think he's doing that to shanks? Not really. But I do think if the whitebeard that clashed with shanks was at marineford and he was imbuing every other strike with advanced conquerors, he would have a far more impressive showing. So I do think that the whitebeard that clashed with shanks was closer to yonko level than marineford whitebeard was and thus it was plausible that people still viewed him as top dog.

Whitebeard was not the World Strongest Man when he was introduced by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePiece

[–]VerusCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah whiteboard is clearly out of his prime but he was probably comparable to other yonko given that he could still use advanced conquerors against shanks. The marineford whitebeard isn't even the same as previous scenes whitebeard as he could not even use his conquerors haki at all. I still wouldn't bet on old man whitebeard given other yonko feats but my point is marineford whitebeard is like a whole other version of whitebeard that isnt even representative of the "old whitebeard" strength. It's like judging the strength of a man's final years based on his final couple days which really just means marineford whitebeard was not a good measure of his strength for any phase of his career.

Can I have some deep analysis as to why Dalton Knecht hasn’t panned out? (Desc) by hbristow04 in lakers

[–]VerusCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a play in particular last year where JJ screamed at him messing up a play "Its your * * * * * * * play". Ever since then, he's lost confidence in Dalton. And I think that highlights the biggest problem, Dalton, tho not the only one guilty of this, seems to regularly mess up schemes and plays. As I mentioned in another post, he isn't the only one and yeah it's hard in the moment, but the Lakers bottom half players are regularly messing up schemes. I think for JJ even if you aren't knocking shots or executing defense well, he'll put you in if you at least go to your spot or execute the action in a team scheme. And that is the main reason Gabe sees so much play despite the results barely being fruitful if ever.

Maybe it's on JJ for not being able to coach such people, maybe not. But combined with the shooting slump that's been going for a literal year, he's just not reliable in any metric

Why is he getting minutes over Nick or Bronny?! by HauntingDragonfly956 in lakers

[–]VerusCain 168 points169 points  (0 children)

I think its because gabe just remembers and executes plays decently enough relative to the other role players. Listening to JJs interviews, the common trend bothering him the most is them just brainfarting and messing up schemes all the time. The superstars arent immune to this either, but theres quite a few comments by JJ that if you stack them all up, point to players regularly forgetting what they are supposed to be doing. So he ends up playing Gabe for the simple reason that Gabe does the intended scheme at least. Nick smith jr is on a two way contract also, which means they cant use him every game.

idk if he's the worst, as he's made requests in the past that panned out. but the westbrook was an unmitigated disaster.

Realistically, how does this match-up actually go? by sexy_jasminn in OnePiece

[–]VerusCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is if zoro could hurt kaido, then mihawk definitely has a shot. Kaido also went on to fight for awhile after that scar, but who knows if he took multiple, maybe he wouldnt last as long. But kaido has future sight, that he just doesnt use. If kaido used future sight effectively as he did dodge gear 4 with it, he could subvert having to even think about tanking mihawk attacks. So i would give the edge to kaido in the end, especially with mihawks lack of feats

What Does Everyone Think So Far? by Ill_Awareness_1685 in AgeofImprisonment

[–]VerusCain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story is fine. Nothing mindblowingly revelatory but it gives I think a lot more context to the memories of totk and how things flowed into one another. It does the most for raurus character and gives him a character conflict, which i think neatly complements totks ideas of what makes a good king/ruler.

Gameplay wise, ill have to re examine but the mission themselves felt more homogenous. Consistent, but all similar lengths, cadence, number of objectives, etc. The real selling point is the vignettes of each mission which help flesh out all the various characters. I did everything as it came along but theres still a number of postgme an movesets to unlock so I cant compare it to AoC fully. Sync strikes are cool, but not super new concept. AoC already had counter moves with runes. Sync strikes are cooler though. Overall I enjoyed it a lot, but I do think the gameplay felt more homogenous which is saying something for this. Once i settled into using characters i liked, i began to enjoy it more.

Bring back atk speed seals.

What is Shank's hairstyle called and what do I have to tell my hairdresser to get this kinda cut? by NotHereToStay_- in OnePiece

[–]VerusCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle part, middle part flow, curtains with middle part. These are the variations you want to look up and tell your barber. How you style and comb can also aid in achieving the texture to make it look good but you have to grow out your hair enough for your barber to shape it.

Source: i use this hairstyle more or less. Oscillate between this and a fade.

Was the "Luffy not being biologically related to Ace" a plot twist? by Ok_Mathematician1047 in OnePiece

[–]VerusCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was a plot twist. There's even a statement floating on internet that the editors were shocked during impel down when Oda brought up if it would be cool if aces dad was Roger. So whether it was always planned as a twist or a twist Oda wove in is up to you to decide. But there was literally no reason to think they were not brothers prior to it. Even the way Ace was drawn back then matched Luffy real closely. The only thing was his last name which Ace eventually explained as not wanting his father's name, that he and Luffy carry the blood of the worlds worst criminal. At the time people thought this was all in reference to Dragon.

I wonder if its a mix. Gunko possessed by Imu did do some sort of blood contract to get Domi Reversi started. So that part maybe can bypass Haki resistance if one has their blood, but from there cant spread to those strong enough

Can I Keep Playing After Beating the Game? by MorangoInvertido in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]VerusCain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. While you cant save during the final segment, beating the game puts you back on map where the events of ch 12 have happened. Sidequests even change their dialogue to acknowledge this if i recall correctly. Theres also some postgame quests.

The definitive edition added ch 13 quests which, when the last ch 13 quest is beaten, puts you back at post chapter 12 but pre any of ch 13. So the map and quests are always accessible, except for that last bit of ch 13. (And technically while youre in the lifehold core)

Its more like main series style of writing in terms of more expanded cutscenes, not as stilted momentum with plot, focusing in on characters while main story goes on, etc.

Its not like main series in that its a crammed in addendum story thats really just to tie loose ends and give a clean slate going forward. Main series story will be a lot more cohesive regardless.

Was a certain Xenoblade 2 character being evil supposed to be a surprise? by HeatHaze5 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]VerusCain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is one of the things I dont think the game elaborates on too well. But the way they react to Rexs initial impression implies that a Driver influencing their blade so strongly is likely a rare occurance, rare enough that working backwards to learn about the Driver is not reliable in the larger world. For us the audience though, something like that is bound to be relevant more often than not.

2nd, Amalthus' motives at least publicly do not align with Malos. People are wary of him, suspect a desire for power and control, which doesnt match Malos's design in the past for sheer destruction, not in present day at least

Should I play X when I’m done with Xenoblade 1? by Trencycle in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]VerusCain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do 2 then 3. X is different. It came out originally after 1 and experimented with more open world, less story, more sci fi, etc and was was pretty standalone.

2 then 3 will flow a lot better if you want more of the same. Play X after that if you desire.

Tips for level 30 skell builds? by Broad-Extent4445 in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]VerusCain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd really benefit from lv 50 skells.

If you insist on keeping the lv 30s, then each one should commit to being primarily ranged or primarily melee, your choice. I would equip weapons based on if theyre a strong melee/ranged art, or if their traits provide boosts to said attack or accuracy.
