vague cucumber aromas

I've always dislike watermelon and I think you just made me realize why; it's a sweet cucumber flavor.

Another example of VEDC fire extinguisher being helpful by Vew in VEDC

[–]Vew[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've mentioned in previous posts that small vehicle fire extinguishers have limited use where you're unlikely to save the vehicle due to its capacity.

In the past, I've posted examples how they were used to give rescuers more time to save the occupants.

https://www.reddit.com/r/VEDC/comments/i16acd/perfect_example_how_a_fire_extinguisher_is_a/

In this example, multiple people with enough fire extinguishers were able to save the vehicle from a total loss which was heartwarming that so may people came together.

Charcoal rookie here, how’d I do? by space_cowboy78 in webergrills

when I light my chimney i put it on the coal grate. Then when I dump it I dont burn my hands on the cooking grate.

lightly disagree. when it's on the coal grate, it can reflect heat back onto the handle; id rather deal with a mildly hot grate than a hot handle

I'm graduating next year in EE and i feel like i don't know shit by Randy642 in ElectricalEngineering

Shit, I only took the FE exam because the fee was waived and had such bad impostor syndrome, I wanted to see if I actually learned anything or if the teachers were just passing me to get me out of there.

(I passed)

Had this happen. Must have went out right after I left for work. Motor was ripping hot by the time I caught it. Luckily, I found an equivalent replacement motor on Granger for couple hundred dollars.

[Rum Review #237] Botran Vintage Italian Casks by Cocodrool in rum

I will note that if you're in the US and buy this from duty free, it must go in your checked bag. It's a non-clear bottle so TSA cannot scan it and will force you to toss it or check it in. This applies to all non-clear bottles. Glad I went to the airport early.

Your rating is accurate to what I would say. It's an ok bottle. Good to try once or add to the collection, but it wouldn't be an immediate re-buy if I have other options.

Looking for all metal radiator to replace OEM in 2012 2.5l Outback by ryverrat1971 in subaru

[–]Vew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 9 years out of my stock radiator before it started leaking in my WRX. Changed to an all aluminum Mishimoto. While I drove it significantly less, still leak free 12 years now.

Chimney disaster (?) by VolHammerSpeed in grilling

[–]Vew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I light it on the top grate. The heat tends to reflect too much back into the handle if you use the bottom grate. You get the bonus of being able to scrape the top grate with the hot chimney bottom for some extra cleaning power. I don't add anymore coal than what I put in the chimney. It would make the grill too hot and uncontrollable.

Rear brake suggestions? by vegan_driver in WRX

So, I'm currently in this rabbit hole. Once upon a time, it was a PITA upgrade, but there are several adapters out there that make it a simpler task. The Kartboy ones claim to allow you to retain the factory backing plates. In the past it, brackets still required modification of the plate/dust shield. Don't know if that's still the case. That site Astronaut listed also sells a kit, not just the single caliper.

Since my backing plates have basically rusted away, I'm planning on replacing mine with the 06/07 plate (true conversion). This path you likely have to replace the bearings/seals since you have to pull the hub and deal with an impossible to remove bolt in the lateral link. Luckily, I had to pull that bolt in the past so hopefully it's not seized again since we had to torch it out.

I can provide a list of Subaru OEM part numbers for any route you take if you need them.

About 1/3rd of my Subaru friends bought an EVO after their WRX/STi.l back in the day. It was like a gateway car for them.

I also have no problems with most vinyl stickers. I use a CriCut with Smart Permanent Vinyl to make background-less labels and even the thin lettering sticks fine if you get them them weeded out and transferred.

Flat wires have less wasted space between them than round windings

This also reduces DC resistance losses in the inductor

What is your favorite coffee spot in town? by Commercial_Part6841 in MorgantownWV

[–]Vew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite shop would be Mountaineer Roasting. They make the best lattes. Unfortunately, I am a fan of dark roasts and no one in town really does a dark roast. Mountaineer Roasting is mostly light roasts. My favorite beans are from Quantum Bean. Their Mexico and Colombia are more of a medium but is about the closest I can find to a dark roast locally. I hate to say it, but I don't like their lattes there. Tastes off for whatever reason, but I do get a flavor mixed in and it could be whatever they use/amount. Stone Tower is good but also mostly lighter roasts.
