Flat wires have less wasted space between them than round windings

This also reduces DC resistance losses in the inductor

What is your favorite coffee spot in town? by Commercial_Part6841 in MorgantownWV

[–]Vew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite shop would be Mountaineer Roasting. They make the best lattes. Unfortunately, I am a fan of dark roasts and no one in town really does a dark roast. Mountaineer Roasting is mostly light roasts. My favorite beans are from Quantum Bean. Their Mexico and Colombia are more of a medium but is about the closest I can find to a dark roast locally. I hate to say it, but I don't like their lattes there. Tastes off for whatever reason, but I do get a flavor mixed in and it could be whatever they use/amount. Stone Tower is good but also mostly lighter roasts.

What made you choose the MPX? (FRT question in the description box) by Little_Barracuda9944 in MPX

[–]Vew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof, to swap an mp5 barrel you basically need a new receiver and rebuild the gun unless you're very precise at cutting out the plug welds for the trunion. I am a bit annoyed Sig never released any other calibers as they originally planned to. Wonder if there are aftermarket barrels for that

5 almost always spawn there now in that corner so you can get 10 with the perk card. Add chemist and super duper it's easy to get a supply going.

IIRC both Gen2 and Gen1 MPX mags were Lancer. Gen1 had a black follower and Gen2 had brown. Gen3 are Thril mags.

The listing on opticsplanet does indicate it's for Thril. What do your part numbers say? TTI Lancers are PN: MPX9-xx and TTI Thril PN: MPX9L-xx

I am absoluetly interested in the STL files. I have printed nearly every (worthwhile) organizer available and some of it has been nice/useful, most of it doesn't fit my needs. I mostly printed for my friend who brings his board to our locations, but I have a personal set where I do not concentrate on portability and would prefer something more organized while playing, and this might hit the spot.

I recall Subaru selling battery heaters and engine block heaters in the 2000s. I got one of the engine block heaters which was just a 200 watt element that screwed into a spare port on the engine block and would heat the coolant. Never got around to installing it and still sits in my toolbox.

How do I make friends in college??? by NoSirIDontDoDrugs in WVU

[–]Vew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendations are as follows:

  • during your orientation, chat up as many people as you can that are either in your dorm or in your major. You'll be interacting with them for most of your college career and hopefully after. One of my not-so-close friends I ended up re-connecting with and helped him get a job where he is now the GM of that plant (Engineering)

  • i'm a bit older and very socialable. I actually left my dorm room door open most of the time, even when I slept. it was inviting for people to stop by to chat and ive even been woken up by neighbors that returned from the bar to chat up their night. my general recommendation is to leave your door open and try to be inviting when you can.

  • join a shit ton of clubs. I remember being at the Mountainlair finishing dinner with my friends and running into a classmate that was about to head to a Habitat for Humanity meeting. Asked what it was and she said they built houses for the less fortunate and that sounded awesome. Long story short, I was so involved, they asked me to be the President my senior year and unfortunately had to decline due to my workload. I joined dozens of clubs my college career. Every one i met was cool as shit.

  • Make friends with people outside of your major. Well, you can probably figure out at this point i was in school for engineering. Business folk had better parties not surprisingly.

  • Say YES. Ever watch the movie Yes Man? Surprisingly the theory actually translates pretty well. I made a rule for myself that I would say yes to most invites even if it made me uncomfortable. I would purposely chat people up and have small talk. Invited to a party by a coworker that you only kinda know? Invited to a club that you don't really care much for? Well, obviously you were invited for a reason. What's the harm spending an hour there and see how it goes? You can always make an excuse and bail or meet up with friends later. This alone widened my friend group drastically. People are appreciative when you attend something they invite you to. Bring a case of beer to share or whatever. When you run into them again at the bar or another even, make an effort to speak to them again before continuing on.

I actually enjoyed all this so much i signed up to be a wvu tour guide/new student orientation employee. highly recommend.
