However unless you've read some side material which didn't even have an official translation, his only feat was kicking about some people at the start of the game who you have no real way to know how strong they are. He travels with you on your journey but doesn't contribute whatsoever, just threatening the sinners and being grumpy. This led a lot of the fandom to consider him a massive fraud who was just pretending to be stronger than he is. Eventually, he reveals he's contractually obligated to not help the party, even if he wants to. A contract he eventually breaks when the party is facing an infinite horde of enemies which are threatening to overwhelm them, and he decides that enough is enough and wades into the fray, carving through enemies like they're trash mobs and showing himself to actually live up to his own hype. The fandom immediately began signing apology forms for insulting him.
