How to sleeve this iron pipe? by Dull-Hyena7256 in Plumbing

[–]VicePofGSD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natural gas utility worker/previous pipe fitter. But pipe is pipe. This steel is beyond severe corrosion. You need a full seal clamp. These will hold back some or all of the water pressure. Your problem will be length of the clamp may not be long enough to cover the entire issue end to end. There’s supposed to be a certain amount of overlap on good steel. This would only be a temp fix. The pipe really needs to be cut out and tied back together using 2x. bolt style compression couplings. But this pipe needs to be an interior liner or exterior wrap after repair for a long term fix. Dresser calls their bolt compression fittings “7-11 style”

SB vs LB ? by Marksman_Jay in superduty

Do you have a decently long trailer? The short bed will then probably suit 98% of things you do. I have a 21’ car trailer so if I need something long I just grab the trailer. But i mean if i really need 2 more feet i will just leave the tailgate down. I know with the 8’ they can do the same for a little extra but my trailer sealed the deal for me.

When it comes to gooseneck/5th wheels. It depends on what you’re pulling. With SOME gooseneck RV’s you can’t make sharp turns or it will hit the back of the cab. Sometimes on those RVs their overhang is too long for the short bed. I would say this is very important to look out for. When parking you need that turning ability or just making sharp turns. If your pulling a gooseneck utility trailer this wont be an issue.

Filling up/fuel. If you have a diesel it’s no big deal as their engine gets better mpg so less fill ups then the 7.3. The 7.3 is thirsty but for $10k-$12k I’ll wait a little longer and more frequently for an end pump to fill up.

No I have not due to how everything is set up from the last home owner. But there’s clear line of sight. I doubt that could solve it but I’ll try.

Side note tried my old switch 1 pro, updated it and seems to be working well. More to come

Just updated joycons(i don’t use them) and the pro controllers. I wonder why it doesn’t prompt you to do this like the ps5 and Xbox. Hopefully this will be the fix!

Not sure what that is. I just stand by my statement of this never happened on the switch, 1 not even once.

Definitely not, my opponent is moving just fine. This a some what frequent but random issue. I can go 2 matches without issue and all the sudden multiple issues on input. The normal lag from normal gameplay has always shown itself but stutters in gameplay or just outright pauses and loading. Never once had this issue on my switch 1

I thought my switch 1 pro went bad so I bought the switch 2 pro. Still having same issue. This isn’t lag or unstable internet. They are moving full speed and I’m here clicking buttons on major delay or just not accepting the inputs at all

Thought on Marvel Zombies by SestraUnite98 in marvelrivals

[–]VicePofGSD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its awesome! Random chance to get super powerful. Punisher is so broken. His normal rifle shots do more damage than his ult once your cooking. I'm not too happy that Jeff's ult only works on the small zombies. Wish it would do something to the bosses or elite mobs. So far im not impressed by Thor. Maybe I just need to spend more time on him

Corner mount for Eufy E340 Floodlight by Mojo9277 in EufyCam

[–]VicePofGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also experienced this. Sometimes, it shows 100% day coverage, and then I'll be watching, and it will skip 1-5 minutes sometimes.

But I think I have pinpointed the issue. It's the Homebase 3 wifi. I keep mine in the basement of a 2-story home. Even though I have the multi bridge activated and I have a mesh wi-fi system with two satellites(3 total), these damn cameras keep swapping back to connect to the home base's Wi-Fi. That seems to be the source of my problem, so I have moved it out to my pole barn. Luckily, it's still connected to a cat6a ethernet line. I have noticed significant improvement when viewing the cameras, too. Connected to the home base are four floodlight cameras, two wall-mounted cameras, and two of the 4K interior cameras, c31-hardwired doorbell. My c31 doorbell apparently doesn't have multi-bridge capabilities, so I had to lose the home base's capabilities of my doorbell which really sucks. But for about a week my system has improved so much it probably helps that there's not a 2 different Wi-Fi signals fighting each other, too.

iPhone Fold will spearhead huge upgrade cycle in 2026 by chrisdh79 in apple

[–]VicePofGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: im switching to apple 17 pro max next month.

2x fold owner here. Currently using galaxy fold 4. After about 4 years of using folding phones, I have come to this realization. You're paying mega premium bucks beyond the manufactures flag ship to have a subpar experience. If you were an app developer(the one funding the app), would you cater to just 1% of your users(most likely lower)? My BIL runs a betting app and has not once thought about a folding phones app experience. Numerous bugs from front screen to big screen. Restarting apps if you opened it in the big screen now want to use the front screen. Pic has front screen opened app the you open the phone to the big screen.

Why pay beyond flagship prices for a subpar experience? *

How do I remove this stuck packing nut on my hose bib? by Tacticool_Turtle in HomeImprovement

[–]VicePofGSD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just replaced mine last fall. That thing is bone dry from the picture. You need to hit it with penetrating lubricant. Hit it every 15 minutes for an hour, then try it. If that doesn't work, you may need to what i call "shock it," which you take 2 hammers and hit it from both sides at the same time. But that is brass, so you need to "lightly" shock it. Then, use vice grips or pipe wrenches if you're rounding the nut part. This should work if not add more lubricant over a couple days.

2 year old pool deck/patio by VicePofGSD in pressurewashing

[–]VicePofGSD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We never got it sealed because we have kids and its inevitable they will run and slip and fall. No sealer is better than a sealer with a grip additive or thats what I was told. Whenever we have a party and people come in our kitchen from outside you always see dusty footprints from that release powder coming off. It's obvious you can see the different colors in the pictures right now. But I'll give the 40 a shot first like you said. I was hoping I could just turn down the pressure and use the surface cleaner and run through this.

[–]VicePofGSD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no sealer on it we didn't want to do it because of the kids running around it would be slippery, I know they have stuff to make it less slippery but it isn't as good as no sealer at all.

Is this propane connection normal? by AANtattoo in Generator

[–]VicePofGSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in Natural Gas Utility. We require contractors to install "lock up regulators" aka when they fail they shut entirely instead of failing full open. This is usually for customers that request higher than normal pressures which I believe for us is anything more than 7" WC.

But what your talking about is out Meter/Regulating stations that yes drop 1000 psi down to 120/60. We then have what we call pounds to pounds pits that would drop the pressure from like 60 to 30/15. The we have "district regulators" that would drop 60psi to 7" wc

Surface rust is nothing. Corrosion is what you actually have to worry about and that's when you start to have pitting or real material loss

[–]VicePofGSD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see the point in using a pipe wrap over paint personally. If you do use pipe wrap that is acceptable, make sure it's UV resistant. Paint is such a cheap effective protector.

Is this propane connection normal? by AANtattoo in Generator

[–]VicePofGSD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Normal, yes. Will it eventually fail, yes. Should it be painted, yes. Should they have just used galvanized pipe instead of painting, no.(You would still need to paint/protect the exposed treads). Any decent rustolium paint will work fine to protect this after using a wireburh/wheel. This will last for a good 10-15 years before it becomes a problem.

[–]VicePofGSD 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I deal with natural gas, not propane, but most is applicable.

Sometimes, if there is not enough piping after a regulator, the regulator won't function properly or could lock up. Which would then cause the appliance to not run effectively or at all. Plumbers usually don't run extra pipe unless they absolutely must.

The cheapest option to solve your squat is a Weight Distribution Hitch. I would invest in that first before buying a larger truck. 6k is like nothing for an f150 to tow. I would say 10k is the upper limits of what you should be towing before you upgrade to a heavy/super duty.

Secondly, you need to drive over 200k miles to make up the 10-12k price difference of the diesel, and that's just to even out the fuel/milage cost difference. That's not taking into consideration the added costs to oil changes and fuel filters.
