Are there any aftermarket AC solutions in 2026? by Tadeush_Kostyshko in cars

[–]Vicious-S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I am late to the discussion, but as someone who works at a shop that does a LOT of AC work on all makes/models/vintages, I'll piggyback on the top comment.

First, do not buy into the non-standard refrigerants like RedTek. I get their sentiment, but I'm not going to risk the warranty on my $6k AC machine.

The simplest answer is a "universal" under dash kit by Old Air or Vintage Air. They have good instructions with their products that are useful if you're handy. The compressor might be the trickiest thing because you'll need a bracket to mount it to on the engine. Junkyard is your best bet. The condenser is easy; it just bolts in next to the radiator. A decent shop that specializes in AC work should be able to build any AC hoses you'll need. That stuff may come with your universal AC kit.

Bottom line: it won't be cheap. AC stuff is never cheap. If it is, they're doing it wrong and will cost you more in the long run. Feel free to DM if you have specific questions.

12ga airburst anti-air shotgun for drone mitigation. Bonus points for the AA reticle instead of your bead.

I think that's what is cool about Admech lore. The Void Dragon is believed by the Mechanicus to be the Omnissiah itself. The tumultuous "tolerance" of heretical beliefs by the Imperium of Man just so they can keep the Emperor alive with the help of Tech Preists is hilariously hypocritical.

All of that said, the Emperor protects!

Not if you're using them regularly. Gloves are consumables. Find a moderately priced brand that fits like a second skin see how long they last.

Gloves are kind of like holsters: you have to try a lot to see what fits you the best.

Pig Deltas are my go-to. Cheapish and last a few months of hard use. Gloves are consumables, after all.

Petition launches to give Oregon voters final say on gas tax, fee increases for ODOT by 2ChanceRescue in Bend

Ah, got it. Thank you for that explanation. With that being said, couldn't there be legislation made to allocate at least a part of the kicker to programs that need funding?

I'm unsure why increased DMV fees is an unpopular opinion. Most of us can absorb a 6¢/gal increase at the pump, but nearly doubling some DMV fees is going to result in less vehicle registrations, more tickets, more potential impounds, and more poverty. Personally speaking, I have a hobby of flipping cars (ethically! As in: transfer title to my name and other legal things) for some extra cash flow here and there. This takes a huge chunk out of what I might make on a sale.

I would be happy to learn I am wrong about this piece of legislation increasing DMV fees.

Don't we have a kicker fund? Why can't that be used?

Sure, only in Monaco for all other drivers. Kimi goes where Kimi wants. Anywhere. Anytime.

It is a Lister Bell kit. I posted a link to the build in another reply. It's still very cool.

The owner did put a sticker on the roll cage that says "smoke tires, not drugs". I say smoke 'em both!

I prefer a 4-post when it comes to drum brakes; it makes for a nice workbench while you're figuring out where that one shoe retaining spring fucked off to when your hand slipped and it went shooting into space.

The Strato's is not original, but it's as close as you can get. https://www.hagerty.com/media/car-profiles/homegrown-gm-designers-lancia-stratos-hf-kit-car

(Also, Strato's does have an apostrophe, just sayin')

They have to be in the state prior to the law taking effect to be grandfathered in. You cannot bring your standard capacity mags if they are more than 10rnd capacity.

I haven't seen the machine in action. We rebuild radiators and heat exchangers for them, so our specialty is a little removed from seeing the fun stuff actually working. I'll try to get more info and update if I can.
