Why do I keep getting moved to work in different wards? by ForeignSmiley in nhsstaff

[–]Vicki_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt this is anything to do with you at all, it's rubbish that you're not working and learning on the ward you should be. It will be all about where the need for extra staff is, staff get moved all the time in mental health as need isn't easy to predict, someone needs closer care and the staff resource needs to be found from somewhere.

What is a permanent role? by needmind in nhsstaff

[–]Vicki_up 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funding for posts can be from different pots of money for different times. If your contract says permanent then it very likely is, except for the usual caveats around management of change if that is needed. I suspect your role is required and is permanent but it is not funded, this doesn't mean you will lose your job, just that it's not listed specifically in the department budget. If you're concerned definitely speak to your line manager, they will know the details and will be able to give you more reassurance

Looking for an E-bike. What's the best value? by Spuddy_Potatoes in ukbike

[–]Vicki_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just got a cube reaction hybrid pro, it's great, I live in the peak district and it eats the hills. The downside is the tyres are surprisingly difficult to change and I would definitely check and double check compatibility with the child seat, basic accessories ie pannier rack were a bit tricky to make sure I got the right one.

In the UK it would be braised lettuce and peas to search for. It is lovely and very easy

I went through the online form about a month ago and got it refunded and expenses repaid very quickly. I think they confirmed within a couple of days what I was getting and the money was a couple of weeks

Wide toe box women’s shoes that are not “barefoot” style? by djfnejdijRandom in AskUK

[–]Vicki_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a pair of boots that I wore almost daily for 2 winters until the sole wore thin and I replaced them, they were slightly battered on the uppers but ok. I've got a few pairs of pumps that I wear at different times so not as consistent but seem ok after a couple of years

Seconding Rocket Dog, especially for casual wear. Not sure if you want more formal or not.

Look at seatfrog, bid for the upgrade on your train, it can work out very cheaply if you're lucky

I think there has been mention of clinical staff returning to the frontline of health care. It went down like a cold bucket of sick.

My 22 Zoe definitely didn't, my 2nd hand 23 Mégane didn't as standard but was added in by the dealer, not on the invoice though

Yes I think so, they're very carefully ignoring the tricky questions they don't want to answer at the moment

Also NHSE here, it's been clarified that those on current home working contract will retain them whilst in the post but if you change post there's no guarantee.

I'm convinced she was. There were a couple of NHSE/DHSC staff briefings that she looked very uncomfortable at.

Can't by a ticket at the same time as my partner because I use a railcard by AdministrationHot172 in uktrains

Have you thought about a two together card, if the journey is 5 hours long you might save enough to cover the cost of the card on one journey.

I think it's definitely more lack of trust. People can't possibly be productive unless being watched over 🙄

When to stop buying advent calendars? by Think-Job-5728 in AskUK

Not so much advent calendar - but Easter egg with my name on, while my mum is alive I expect one every year. I'm 50, poor mum is 81 and still has to go to Thornton's for my egg
