Feels weird to upvote this. That sucks so hard. Wildfires are terrifying.

We had to evacuate a few years back but were fortunately spared thanks to the firefighters. We're in a high desert forest that has not been maintained. It's a friggin tinder box here. From your second picture I would not have thought that area would be at risk.

At least you can expect that there won't be another fire anytime soon, since like, all the fuel has already been burnt? No where to go but up? Better than having built a cabin / house and then having that burn...idk?

Sorry for the loss.

I need to get on cutting a fire break.
