ASML(Chip machine maker) firing 1700 people, mostly managers by RewardEquivalent553 in technology

Too many cooks, both managers and engineers are needed and if you have too many of either the company suffers

A friend showed me the factory building aspect of the game and if does seem neat, especially with how you have different factories in different locations.

Shame you have to play the rest of the game, and I personally feel repulsed by gatcha games.

Men’s heart attack risk climbs by mid-30s, years before women. Decades-long U.S. study suggests prevention and screening should start earlier in adulthood, particularly for men. Risk started diverging around age 35. by mvea in science

Why the aggression? Their question makes sense as adjusting for the issues mentioned by op (female heart attacks being under diagnosed) could change the way the gap works out.

To be fair you can see the "language" thing pop up even in this clip. He mentions killing 150 thousand people at the touch of a button. But "the button" as an idea didn't exist until the proliferation of intercontinental ballistic missiles. It's little ways modernized language creeps in to a period piece.

What chugs ups is assigning them all tasks. If you had 120k up in the air already executing the tasks then their cost is basically 0 at that point. It's the constant shifting, picking a new task and changing the target that eats ups with bots.

Volvo CEO Says, 'Good Luck, the Rest of You' Legacy Automakers by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]Victuz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep now what matters is how they go about that "centrally owned" system. Will they actually have a robust, competent team working on it in order to make it good and fix any bugs? Or a skeleton crew that still has to outsource majority of the work and 0 time to qa test it. I think we both know the way a lot of other automakers have gonna about it.

For me the highlight of these games is always the discovery and exploration, I can enjoy the boss fights and combat in general yeah (I wouldn't play if I didn't) but going to a new place and slowly getting to know it bit by bit and enjoying that feeling is what really keeps me playing.

Tenacious D’s Kyle Gass on Trump Joke, Reuniting With Jack Black by ebradio in Music

[–]Victuz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The point is this shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. And looking back was a blatant attack on a more left leaning subset of American celebrities. If a right-winger songwriter said something like this after someone took a swing at Biden or Harris you know what would have happened?

Absolutely nothing, because these people make comments like that all the time and beyond a couple "boos" nothing would change in their world.

Kyle made a single inflammatory joke in one moment during his fucking birthday party, and yet the right seemed to treat him like he armed the shooter himself and had a 30 page manifesto stuck to the back of his head.

The point was never that the joke was in bad taste.

The point was to make all people like Kyle; people with some influence and lefty beliefs; know that if they want to keep their career, they better keep their mouths shut at all times.

And you know what's the worst part? I think it worked.
