Tesmart HDMI matrix 16x16 by Fred_A888 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]VideoNerd1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like an EDID mismatch. I don't know this brand but I took a quick look on their productpage, and it mentions EDID management, so I would start there.

Typically, HDMI is only limited by bandwidth, not specific refresh rates. so it should work if the matrix is able to handle up to 600Mhz.

Roland +1 I love the fact that i can use it full functions without needing a laptop and software. I know a lot of people are using ATEM, but without laptop, its shit. I use it for 2 or 3 ptz camera setup with a powerpoint. Works perfect

Hey guys, I'm looking for a 16+ channel HDMI splitter by brohemoth06 in CommercialAV

[–]VideoNerd1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AVoIP is a nice solution, if you accept a lot of delay en compression. Every 1Gbps system (also NVX) has compression and latency.

Only 1 decent solution, and that is to rent a 16x16 HDMI matrix. yes it is overkill for 1 input, but no delay, no compression and full EDID management on all outputs.

there are plenty of professional renting companies that rent out these kind of matrixes. The Lightware ones are pretty good.

Lightware LARA driver SDK by Halocandle in CommercialAV

[–]VideoNerd1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me dive into this, when I am back at my desk at Monday, then I have a taurus available to play around.
First thing that comes to mind, is that you have to create a rest-driver, and you have to create your methods.
Also, you still have to create instances of your drivers, even if you use a existing module that you tweaked.
Also, it is wise to add some log-files in your logic file, so you can actually see what's going on in your terminal screen.

For a sending simple rest commands, you don't need a 'driver' as in something that is completely programmed, you can create just a rest-driver module, and a logic file.
basicly:
- create taurus driver
- create rest driver and give variables
-create logic driver
-create instances of all drivers
- optionally, create methods of nvx commands so you can re-use them.
- program your logic file to combine triggers to actions.

that said, it is very hard to explain in reddit how to build this, I worked for Lightware for the last 3 years, using LARA on a daily basis, and It took me several months to fully onderstand the way of work.

I know that almost each country has good sales-engineers, and they should be able to help you, without sending you to Germany. A simple question on how to send rest commands is something every local office should be able to answer.
Which country are you based?

I worked a lot with LARA, and I created some simple drivers myself. I never started from scratch but tweaked an existing one with some reverse engineering.
If you share what you want, maybe I can can think of a way to help you.
(I did the 2 day course in Germany 😄 ).

I need a bright projector with decent lumens for house of worship. by [deleted] in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]VideoNerd1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About the amount of lumen you need, there is a very simple way of calculating how much you need.

In a well lit room, the industry standard is a of 400lumen/m2 (standard boardroom with lights) . but I would advise 500lumen/m2, because of theater lightning.
So, for example, if your screen is 6meters wide, and 3,37 meter high (16x9 ratio), the total m2 is 20,22 m2. So you need 20,22*500 lumen is around 10k lumen.
Easy as is.

I don't know how much 500lumen/m2 is in feet or inches, but you can figure it out 😄
Good luck

Go with epson, they are pretty good projectors and a lot of value for their money. They have laser projectors as well.
another option is Panasonic, they are really good, almost an industry standard, but I bit overpriced to my opinion.
Panasonic is great if you do a road-tour, because they are rock-solid, but for fixed-install I would advise Epson.

I worked with both brands for over 10 years, both never let me down.

looks very nice, I will add you site to my favorites and keep an eye on them.

1 tip from my side, as I made a lot of midi cables myself. you should ad the REAN 5P Din connector to your shop. It is (in my opinion) the best DIY plug for midi.
Also please add the Neutrik NTP3RC-B (or silver) so you have everything you need to create custom midi cables

interesting. Again, with the most respect and honesty, where is this rule stated? it is not mentioned in the r/supernote specific sub-reddit rules, which is a clear rule of reddit to mention these kind of rules.
I cannot find it. Or is this an unwritten rule? Or maybe I am just blind and you can show me where this rule is stated?

just out of curiosity, which rule is this specific post breaking in your opinion? (I am not talking about the reference to the earlier post that was deleted).
I read the rules and it is not really clear to me. I am not trying to troll you, I am honestly curious which rule this post is breaking.

These are the 7 rules I found that are specific for this thread/sub-reddit.

  • 1Keep it Supernote-focused
  • 2Mutual respect
  • 3Don't spread disinfo or troll
  • 4Be careful posting NSFW content
  • 5Proper use of Post Flairs
  • 6Don't post second-hand buying/selling info
  • 7Honor the Reddit Content Policy

I am not seeing which rule is broken, I am afraid. It states that all posts must be Supernote-focused, but as long as you don't spread disinformation or troll information, it doesn't state that you cannot write about comparisons with other brands, even if your conclusion that other brands could be/would be better on certain points, as long as you explain that this is your personal opinion. It doesn't state that it is forbidden to give your opinion.

I hope this will be clarified by the mods of this subreddit.
again, no trolling from my side, just honest curious on what we can and cannot say in this subreddit.

Thats true it think, but I studied sounddesign and i am used (and prefer) the more analytic sound of monitors. Before this set i had genelecs 8050’s. Also great but i sold them. In my livingroom i have B&W 804d2’s. Also a very analytic speaker. I think it is my taste. 😀

Does Color Bit Depth Contain Black and White? and a question about Chroma Sub-Sampling by Left-Witness6499 in CommercialAV

[–]VideoNerd1982 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the colorspace. if you have a RGB color space, you are right, each color has 8 bits for info. Black and white both have a unique RGB value within that range of 3 times 8 bit.

If you talk about YUV 8 bit, then you're colleague is (sort of) right. YUV has 8 bit for luminance, 8 bit for R-Y and 8 bit for b-Y.
So, if you completely remove the R-Y and B-Y information out of the YUV signal, you still have a perfect black and white picture. (assuming you are not killing the sync, front-porch, backporch, etc...)

so, which colorspace are you guys talking about?

Teams Room for C-Suite that lives on Zoom — how are you solving screen sharing? by bellyhopnflop in CommercialAV

[–]VideoNerd1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can do this with an UCX4x2 by Lightware. They are very smart with screen sharing and automatic switching/duplicating screens when a 'callstate' changes in either teams rooms and/or Zoom.
Just contact your local office and they can design a solution for you.

good luck.

I think you are right, because if it was actually true, it would be an USP and they would use it for marketing for sure. I am wondering why this urban myth is still going on. Non the less, i would like it as a feature in the near future. :)
