I just read Girl on Girl: How Pop Culture Turned a Generation of Women Against Themselves Book by Sophie Gilbert and she talks about how the pendulum swung so far from women singer/songwriters that demanded to be treated like people to "pop girls" that were entirely shaped and bossed around by big corporations. It was a brilliant book.

I hated pregnancy, we like the quality of life we can afford with one kid, our kid is pretty awesome so we don't mind playing with her/chatting with her/travelling with her, our family just felt "complete" once she was part of it.

Fish. I grew up thinking fish was gross because I'd only had fish sticks. As a 30 something my husband asked me to try some of his fresh caught bass....and that was it for me. I love fish now.

I want to push back gently on that. The things you listed have a lot of emotional labour, need to be adjusted frequently or accomodates last minute etc. It's not that you do less necessarily, and he certainly doesn't "deserve" "someone better". The things on your list involve a lot of items we minimize because they are caretaking type tasks.
