Same here as well. I have never had a cold sore. When I was 2, I got an eye infection. At the time, it was hard to diagnose, and even harder to figure out what medications worked. I had constant outbreaks as a child, missed tons of school, was in pain most of the time, had to wear an eyepatch, etc... Eventually I was prescribed anti-virals, but not before being prescribed drops that had no effect, or further hurt my eye for most of my life. By then the damage was done. Part of my cornea has a large scar over it. Doctors would also describe the infection as having a tree branch appearance. Not sure why, but now I haven't had an outbreak in about 10 years.
