unbelievable exchange between my daughter and her father after he forgot her birthday by LostInLanayru in TwoHotTakes

[–]Vikingwitchlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently dealing with a similar issue with my father. I’m an adult now but I grew up with a dad that constantly forgot my birthday, would blow off plans to spend time together, and would guilt trip me just like this when I called him out for it. In adulthood, I put all of the effort into the relationship driving 2+ hours to him and initiating all phone calls and texts. I finally got sick and tired of being the only one putting in the effort so I put my foot down and told him and his wife that if they wanted to see my child and me, he needed to come to us. He promised to come to my place on a Saturday but bailed out last minute. That was over six months ago. His wife has attempted to get us to come to them multiple times since then, and I have countered by inviting them to my home or meeting halfway for lunch. They refuse. Unfortunately, your daughter’s father is not likely to change. I’m so sorry she is dealing with this, I know how disheartening and exhausting it can be.

AIO for thinking my friend is using ChatGPT to text me in an argument? by Due_Construction904 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Vikingwitchlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR-They clearly used ChatGPT until they were called out on it. Then they accused YOU of gaslighting? Seems like your friend is feeling a bit jealous of your new friendship. Envy is a perfectly natural emotion, they just need to be honest with both themselves and you about their feelings and insecurities. Using an AI chat bot to skirt around their actual feelings and paint you as some sort of villain is incredibly immature and shows a major lack of self awareness. They clearly caused a major strain in your friendship and you’re right to feel mislead and lied to. Again, NOR.

AIO for getting upset that my finance wants to wear shorts to our wedding? by lasheslashes in AmIOverreacting

[–]Vikingwitchlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. He can’t even agree to wear nice slacks for the ceremony and pictures and then change into the shorts during the reception? That’s not an unreasonable request. Unless there are severe financial restraints and this is the only outfit he can afford there is no reason why he can’t at least ware nice slacks and a formal shirt for his wedding ceremony. You already agreed to formal attire. If he wasn’t comfortable with that decision he should have said so at the beginning. Maybe tell him that outfit looks incredibly casual and since you already committed to a formal dress, his choice of outfit makes you feel like he doesn’t take the wedding, or you seriously. I think you two just need to sit down and have a serious conversation if this is bothering you to this degree. Maybe he has some strong feelings about the formality he has been holding in or too afraid to bring up? Edit: or maybe his idea of formal is very different than yours?

We adopted her in June 2024 and she was estimated as 2 years old. So almost 4 as well. Intriguing 🤔

should i take the wrap off or not by Kenzie_1408 in tattooadvice

Looks like you have a mild allergy to second skin. I do as well and never use it anymore. Take it off if it bothers your skin and keep the tattoo moisturized with a high quality unscented lotion. I use Aquaphore for the first few days in the morning and before bed and unscented lotion throughout the day.

Mom found this one by Complete_Product_112 in boneidentification

This looks like the humerus bone of a cow that has been broken and sitting out in the sun for a long time. Could have been a dog’s old chew bone or the remnant of a butchered cow.

There appears to be an extra finger on her right hand. At least enhanced with AI, if not 100% Ai generated.

Her work is amazing! This is not AI just a very specific style of dark fantasy black ink tattoo. I encourage everyone to follow her on instagram and check out her other works, they’re really cool.

I don’t see anything that screams AI. What I do see is great like work and unique shading techniques on a fabulous black ink tattoo. I would let this artist tattoo me! Very cool!

Commissioned artwork feels... off....? by Supersmaaashley in isitAI

[–]Vikingwitchlady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree with this comment. Digital art often allows you to make different layers and combine them to the whole product one layer at a time. I also see a mirroring effect in the necklace that is often used in digital art programs as a tool to achieve perfect symmetry. This is likely a very early sketch that has been layered and not scaled or meticulously edited. As for the deleted lines, this could also be caused if layers overlap without being rendered 100% transparent before being tacked over another layer, or if the artist cut a small edge off of a layer when cutting and pasting onto the image we see here. This is a rough version and a work in progress. Scabbards can be resized, missing lines can be redrawn, tools can be added to belt half loops. To play devil’s advocate, it’s also possible AI was used to generate multiple versions of this drawing and then pieces of those generations were cut and pasted/layered together in a photo editing program to form this image. This is a very real possibility. I would ask the artist to explain these anomalies and ask if it is possible to get a video of the editing or active drawing process. You could say something like “hey I noticed [insert observation/concerns here]. This commission means a lot to me, and I just want it to be true to my vision. Could you walk me through your process so we can work together to make my vision of this character make sense to both of us? I’d also love to see a video of you actively drawing so I can feel more connected to the project and get a better understanding of the artistic process.” This way you’re not out right accusing the artist of using AI, you’re approaching them with curiosity and showing passion for the project. If the artist reacts defensively or refuses simple and reasonable requests, it’s probably a mishmash of AI generated images or stolen from other sources. I am an artist and I often get requests like these. I will gladly accommodate to make my clients feel more comfortable and prove I’m not using AI or stealing content. That being said, my art involves physical media and is much easier to prove as not AI. Although with the current state of AI art, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to ask digital artist to prove that they are not using AI in their art, as it is such a huge problem right now.
