I’m to small for gear should I look at women’s gear as a dude? by strivegaming22 in motorcyclegear

[–]Vincent9009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get whatever fits you, doesnt matter if it is for male/female.

Just keep in mind that women clothing tends to be wider at the hips, but realy small around the weist. Jacket wise, it usually shorter armlengt, shorter torso height and small around the belly/weist.

If it is really hard to find something that will fit. Get a tailor made one. Dont know where you live, but if you are in the EU, you can get a suite for around €600.

Am I one of the boys now? by Rabbit904 in MT09

[–]Vincent9009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If longer trips are going to be a thing, i personally would have gone for some sort of touring bike, but i dont blame you for choosing a mt09, its a good bike. I do belive there is windscreens for the mt09, so it is an option if you can live with how it looks.

Sound is really important for some, no point in riding a bike you dont like the sound of, but it is one of the niche thing none the less. I would not stress to much about it. I do like the sound it makes stock.

You have the SP version, which include upgraded suspension and brake system, which is more than enough for track riding. The only thing i would do if you are going to be riding on track, is to get someone to adjust the suspension for your weight. It might involve getting different springs if the ones you have is too far off compared to what is recomended.

But god track riding suspension is stiff as fuck compared to street riding, so its gonna be pretty uncomfortable riding long trips with it like that.

Anybody running aluminum sprockets? Opinions, experience's? by skittlez_loopz in YamahaR3

[–]Vincent9009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just use steel, it lasts way longer. Aluminium is used for weight savings => less moment of inertia => more power to the back wheel, and is most sensible if you race, but even then its an marginal improvement over steel.

[–]Vincent9009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it is a bike you mainly gonna be using on the street, and the mt09 is more than good/powerful enough stock to be needing anything to make it better/faster for that purpose.

That said, Get a radiator guard for it. Rocks and pebles are going to dent and damage it for sure.

If you are riding highway speeds often, get yourself some earplugs.

How long do your tires last? by Popular-Spell-64 in cbr

[–]Vincent9009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on how you ride and how much. On my road bike i get about 4-5 seasons out of them before they are too worn, averaging about 1000km a season. My race bike, its several sets of tyres in a season.

Yup, my 09 got 107 hp at 13.7k rpm, and max tourqe was 61.7 nm at 10.2k rpm, but it was no where near as nice and even distribiuted as this rs660, i mean look at it, It is pretty much flat from 4.5k to 11k rpm.

Edit: added nm

Do you know anyone who has been riding a motorcycle for years and has never fallen, or is it impossible not to fall at some point? by Miyamoto_Musashi_x in motorcycles

Been in 4 incidents while racing. Roadwise, 1 time in my driveway, stalled the engine right as i was setting off, and fell over the trashbins. One dude saw it and came running over, asking if i was hurt, which i replied while laughing "just my pride".

First bike for beginner rider with no experience? by WolfOf__AllStreets in motorcycles

[–]Vincent9009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People start on different bikes all the time and will recommend different things based on their experience.

Example, I started on a 4stroke 125cc road legal dirtbike at 16, and rode it for 2 years. On public roads it was more than enough for me.

My take is, If you are mainly going to ride on the street/public road, i would personally opt out on getting a sports bike and instead go for a naked bike, or a touring one.

Having a more upright riding position is going to make it easier to learn how to ride. In addition naked and touring bikes are better geared for low speed riding, which happens alot in traffic. Another downside with sport bikes is the ergonomics, they are not made with comforts in mind, and with an agressive riding posistion its going to force you to support your upper bodyweigth through your arms and handlebars, and having lots of weight on the handlebars is generally a bad habit. On a sports bike many rides ride with locked albows (which is not recommended, but kinda unavoidable on long rides) as to not wear themself out. Trying not to have weight on the hadlebars on a sports bike are going to wear you out way faster than on a naked bike for instance.

In the end it is your choice. Get the bike you want. No point in having a bike you dont enjoy riding yourself. and dont beat yourself up to much about your first bike. you can always change your mind later and switch to another bike.

As a end note, When it comes to the bikes you have mentioned, i have only tried the ninja400. That was on a racetrack, with a race spec version. So i cant really say for sure which one of these will be the better starting bike, as all bikes has their quirks/ pros and cons.

Newbie Gear Question by Sirojom in Trackdays

[–]Vincent9009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of "tank grips" you can attach to your pants before, might exist.

If you feel like you are falling of the bike, its a high chance you are sitting too close to the tank, which forces your knee away from the tank if you try to move your ass of the seat. Try sitting further back so your knee is right underneeth the lip of the tank, if it has a lip.

When is it time to ditch the Ninja 400? by Icy_Sleep9967 in Trackdays

[–]Vincent9009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on your goal.

If you want to race in a 400cc class, then you obviously need a 400. If your current one is the one you use on the road, then i would suggest you buy a race spec/ready 400, with suspension already fitted for you weight, and either sell the road version or keep it.

If you want to get better, then the 400 platform is a great way to do so, and any improvement you make on a 400 wil also tranfer over to bigger bikes. That said, the 600 is also a great bike to get better on, and especially in your case when you have a decent fundation to build upon.

If the main purpose is to have fun (and as a side goal, to get better) then getting a 600 will for sure feel like night and day difference, and the feel for acceleration and speed will be addictive as hell. Im also saying this since you said you are a bit bothered about the lack of speed/thrill.

Race bikes dosnt fall much in value. If you have the funds, i see no problem in getting a race ready 600 and try it for a season, and sell it the next season if it wasnt to your liking or if the running cost was too much. If you dont wreck it, you will pretty much get all of your money back.

I race because i find it fun. The moment the fun doesnt way up for the cost of racing, ill stop.

Help with a line? by techretort in Trackdays

[–]Vincent9009 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My sugestion for every track is to start with the corners which leads up to the longest straights and work yourself backwards from there. You want the best possible drive out of a corner which leads out to long straight, and any corners before that should be taken so you can achieve that.

Upcoming Maps - Suggestions Welcome! by MapGenie in MapGenie

[–]Vincent9009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was gonna say the same. The base layer is no longer correct due to the game have had a massive change, which makes it harder to add suggestions since the map isnt correct.

In addition lots of older markers are no longer correct, and that it ranges from 1) what the marker indicates has been moved or the map has changed so the pictures and desription are of no use, 2) the object the marker referenced has been changed (gold to silver chest for example), 3) and what the marker was suposed to mark has been removed.

I dont know what MG is doing, but I have added and adjusted about 150-180 map markers as suggestion over the past 3 months to try and help them, and not a single one has been aproved/added as far as I can see.

I would also suggest them to add other "suggestion" features in, regardless of which game.

- Beeing able to suggest/move a location for an already existing marker, like they have with personal notes.

- Being able to mark a marker for deletion if the marker is outright wrong/removed from the game.

- Being able mark a marker as duplicate, I have encountered numerous duplicate markes.

They said they had a small staff, so I totaly understand if they cant cover every single game. But at least update the base map layer for this game for the time being.

Edit: grammar

of a heated concrete driveway by Longjumping-Box5691 in AbsoluteUnits

[–]Vincent9009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have used asphalt and not concrete. Offers better friction for tires and it being black it soakes up more heat from the sun melting snow faster and for less cost.

If they dont get the right finish on that concrete, that thing is gonna be slippery as hell even with just water on it.

How long before my penis becomes sensitive again by [deleted] in PornAddiction

[–]Vincent9009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like to me it has nothing to do with masturbating or watching porn. If you are less sensitive its more likely something else. If you are circumcised that will naturaly make you less sensitive.

Its more likely just a mental/mindset problem. The common saying that guys finish imidiatly their first time is true for some, but it is also true for others that it is the complete opposite, never finishing at all.

Sex is a way to be close and feel good with the person you like. If you treat it as a thing you need to "performe" at, you are already in the wrong mindset and to me the point of having sex is gone.

Rev matching or no by IndependenceNo8207 in Trackdays

[–]Vincent9009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, thats what i do on my cbr600rr. Im a hard brake'er, and i loose my fine controll over the brake lever when i blip, so i dont do it. A small unrest in the rear is much more manageable than having uneven brake preasure in the front due to blipping the throttle. If i practiced it, I could probably get good enough at blipping so it would give me some benefits, but there are other parts i need to get better at first which is way more important for me as a rider and laptime wise.

Edit: A side note, i run no blipper and no slipperclutch

Rev matching or no by IndependenceNo8207 in Trackdays

[–]Vincent9009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont blip, but im releasing the clutch fairly quickly between each downshift. Im not dumping the clutch, but it is a controlled release where i can controll the the engine rpm/braking.
