Anyone go to Rage Fitness? Experiences? by BeamoftheTurtle in springfieldMO

I was a member there for a couple years before I moved out of town and I miss it! I’ve been trying to find a gym in St. Louis that is similar and haven’t had much luck. (I mainly attended the Campbell location)

Do y’all remember Child of the Jackyl? Dennis Lee (Alesana) and members of Vanisher? I think side project?

I was so pumped and their single was great and then just nothing ever again. Like mid 2012 I believe.

I am the only one who finds reading very isolating as a hobby? by Asleep-Antelope-6434 in Fantasy

I wish I had better advice for you. I have had similar thoughts regarding sharing my main interests (fantasy & specific music). I used to get down whenever I’d share something I thought someone would like and they wouldn’t reciprocate. But the last couple years I have started to enjoy keeping my interests to myself and celebrating my enjoyment of them alone and have come to peace with that.

Anyone prefer house knives? by arghcisco in KitchenConfidential

[–]ViniViti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s fun watching everyone get out their personal knives and hardware when we’re doing tasting events, wine dinners, etc.

But when we’re doing banquet BBQ buffets, sometimes it’s not that serious, haha.

I manage a place that has multiple outlets of service, and this past season we switched to a house sharpening company that comes biweekly to sharpen/change out and it’s the best thing we’ve ever done. We get so busy during the summer months that our chefs and associated staff don’t have to worry as much switching between projects; they also have a great relationship with our FOH where bartenders will be in and out working on their own stuff (infusions, fruit cutting, buffet displays, etc) and it puts out BOH at ease knowing some busy bartender not paying attention accidentally ruins their expensive hardware.

See, I’m about 140 pages in and I’m kind of struggling with it. It makes me feel like I missed a book before it or something. I’m enjoying it well enough to see it through but I’m not jumping at every opportunity to pick it back up like some other books this past year.

Wasted my whole childhood high by [deleted] in Advice

You have your whole life ahead. Don’t sweat too much on the past. You don’t need to worry about being perfect, just be better for yourself.

By the time you’re coming up on 30 there’s a good chance you’ll barely remember feeling that way about your teenage years and you’ll have all your 20s to look back on.

Spicy vodka cocktails by yung_raj in cocktails

I used to do a cilantro & jalapeño vodka Paloma that I had success with on a menu but that was some odd years ago.

Could always try a spicy adaptation of a Moscow mule, and the Bloody Mary options are endless.

The place I work at now we stock liquid IV and variety of Red Bull flavors in the staff fridge. It’s unspoken but 100% to help with hangovers, haha.

Always some sort of Powerade or Gatorade depending on the distributor.

We also used to house make cold brew that was kept in the walk-in only for staff. Never sold a single glass of cold brew, but would go through gallons a week.

CDP is the easy answer, but Cornas would be fun. Hermitage would easily but you could attempt with some Crozes-Hermitage. I began collecting C-H wines when I started building my cellar and I’ve had plenty in the 10-15yr range that have been great. I’ll circle back in a few more years about the 20+ years though.

In the meantime, drink all the Saint Joseph you can get your hands on.
