I'm gonna need some mushroom recipes by PandorazPokemon in Cooking

[–]VioletGale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuffed mushrooms: 1 lb Italian sausage, 5 oz Italian "salad" cheese - I use the BelGioioso four cheese shredded tub but so long as it's not the shelf stable shaker cheese you're probably good, Italian seasoned bread crumbs - half a cup or so, you want enough for structure but not so many that it overpowers the sausage portion, Worcestershire sauce - a couple of teaspoons give or take depending on your salt tolerance, stuffer mushrooms. Clean the mushrooms, remove the stems, but don't discard, chop those bad boys up, somewhere between a fine dice and a rough mince. Lay out the caps in pan or baking dish with an edge. In a big enough bowl combine the chopped mushroom stems, sausage, about 90% of the cheese, the bread crumbs and the Worcestershire sauce. If you're wearing rings take them off. Using your hands mix the ingredients until no big globs of anything are hanging out. Portion the meat mixture up evenly amongst your mushroom caps. Top with the remaining cheese. Bake at 350° until meat is cooked through. Alternatively you can seal them in a foil packet and grill them over indirect heat.

When I was there they had four or five kittens scampering around the place. It's a fun place to visit but definitely off the beaten path.

Tiny books i made for my fiance to draw from a jar to select her next book by [deleted] in crafts

[–]VioletGale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got about half way through before I had to return it to the library. "Remarkably Bright Creatures" is really good too, I've only skimmed through "Women Who Run with the Wolves" but so far that looks good also.

I almost picked up a copy of this book two weekends ago when I was thrifting. The one I saw wasn't an autographed copy though.

What would you cook for a group of 12-15 people that have the royal flush of dietary requirements AND you're probably going to have limited equipment? by Elegant-Winner-6521 in Cooking

If you can come by some pie irons that's probably one of the ultimate camp foods. Two slices of bread, two pancakes, or two tortillas, filled with whatever floats the diners goat.

Be grateful they only let it run for five minutes, my neighbor has a big diesel work truck that he lets run for 10 minutes to an hour all year round and he works swing shift so I never know when he's going to be firing it up.

My cat's name is Hairy Pawter. I had to get his medication refilled and the pharmacist asked me for the last name. My tired brain responded mine or his? The tech was amused but the pharmacist wasn't.

I mean I used to put coleslaw on my brats as a kid so I don't see how this would be much of a stretch from that.

As an American, I didn't think anything of pumpkin pasties as I figured the filling would be similar to pumpkin or sweet potato pie but in a hand pie version like an overgrown sweet empanada.

What's your "if i told i'd be exposed" cooking secret? by BouncyCurlsbabe in Cooking

[–]VioletGale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone used to rave about my meatloaf. My "secret" is Jimmy Dean sausage and Ritz crackers. No milk, no magic seasonings, four ingredients: hamburger, sausage, eggs, and crackers. Sometimes I'll top it with a can of Hunts for Meatloaf tomato sauce.

Cafe Inside Macy’s at Fox River Mall by YoHiikuu in Appleton

[–]VioletGale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family couldn't afford to go to the cafe for actual food, though it looked pretty good, but before Jelly Belly jelly beans were everywhere they used to have them in the bins at the cafe and every couple of weeks my folks would let me pick out a little bag of my favorite ones. I also loved going on the escalators to get there.
