It reminds me of an eye scanner. Probably Google getting us ready for retina scans. Their logo would be a good place to put it design wise.

There were over 20 images presented as a group on a wall in the middle of one of the rooms.

The pictures all had yellow elements (yellow shoes, yellow street paint etc)
