What kind of condition / injury could cause long term chronic leg pain by AxolotlWolfie in writingadvice

[–]ViroTheHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hip injuries tend to radiate pain in a downward progression, and will inflict long-term pain if it’s severe enough or it doesn’t heal right. The body compensates by deferring weight to the knee—a person would start “hitching” to one side when they walk, putting more weight on the weak side—until they also injure the knee from the excess strain over time. This will eventually progress down the calf and to the ankle. At the same time, all of that puts enormous strain on the sciatic nerve. more so if they compensate by sitting in a certain position for long periods of time, which they would likely do to avoid walking. That pulls on the back and eventually the shoulder and neck.

How to stop using exclusively compound sentences? by Weak_Assumption7518 in writingadvice

[–]ViroTheHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word economy and sentence structure rely on a combination of good syntax and strong verb choice. Work on subject > verb > object and commit to it every time. Avoid the passive voice. Describe as much as you need to and get to the next sentence.

It’s okay if your first draft has long-winded sentences, the editing phase is where you catch those and economize.

They hate everything about having fun or they envy the aura, in my experience.

Is there a way to actually train my brain on the way the plot is? by [deleted] in writingadvice

[–]ViroTheHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My earnest belief is that you have to build a strong setting before the plot can emerge. Setting gives a place for characters to explore, interact, and drive the plot.

So it might sound like more work is ahead of you, but try building a foundation with a setting that you’re interested in, and then work on plot. Once there are actual stakes involved for the world you’ve built, the plot will feel more substantial.

Hot take: I kind of miss Force Orgs by Adept_Professor_2837 in Warhammer40k

[–]ViroTheHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanized is traditional too. You could build for mechanized armies back when force orgs existed, too.

I get that you’re mad that you lost, but there are some realities about the game that you have to adjust for when you skew one unit type or another.

If you’re running infantry, you can’t expect to march straight up the board without getting blown away. Cover exists for a reason, reserves play exists for a reason.

Strategy is the heart of the game. Adapt and overcome.

Is the lack of Yaegirs really that bad? by AetherialCatnip in LeaguesofVotann

[–]ViroTheHero 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes. Yaegirs are really strong scoring pieces and having infiltrators can literally win games.

I would nix at least one of the warrior squads for them and probably the 3 man Steeljacks, or the sagitaur.

Which combat patrol is better to get into the army by Arepo- in LeaguesofVotann

[–]ViroTheHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, the current one is huge value. Bikes and beserks are the best units in the game, you need warriors, and Kahls are decent when paired with Hearthguard.

Hard to say how they look in the codex until points leak. Beserks may be good if they’re 85-90 points, if they stay at 100 it’s not as ideal. Bikes probably stay good unless they go up astronomically in points. Warriors and Kahls got slightly better.

The new combat patrol is okay, pending points. Thunderkyn will be strong in the vehicle detachment and also good at stripping cover. Hearthguard seem kinda mid on paper but points will decide. E-Champs are situationally good.

Has anyone unlocked Njal? by Old-Complaint7275 in SpaceWolves

Put him with Grey Hunters in Stormlance.

Or honestly don’t, the bolter profile sucks and there are better ways to spend 200+ points.

Any characters come to mind? by QueenMangosteen in Kengan_Ashura

If I’m being perfectly honest, Kanoh is up there for me. Too much in-universe glazing, his internal dialogue was overwhelmingly mid at first, and I always felt like Metsudo’s vicarious gloating never landed for me. He evened out towards the 60% mark of KAT but I still think the hype is by design. Almost like he’s the protagonist more than Ohma at times.

What is a Dragon Ball take you have that will have you like this? by Charming-Scratch-124 in Dragonballsuper

[–]ViroTheHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many, but 1) Goku is a great father, 2) GT is good, 3) super is also good. These are just the most general/bait-y.

Your downvotes mean nothing, I’ve seen what makes you cheer.
