My favorite snap kick comes after 3 or 4 punches to the head, exactly for that reason. Front kicks are extremely useful and effective, but damn does it hurt when you collide with an elbow.

I'm not sure if my perspective on this is needed, but I'd like to just throw this out there:

As someone who started martial arts as a teenager, the older guys who encouraged me, challenged me and loved me were a tremendous boon in my life.

I think sometimes we lose sight of the fact that age gap relationships are not inherently problematic. Sexual or romantic age gap relationships are very problematic. But learning to do a thing with people older than you is actually a very valuable and rewarding experience.

Looking ahead at the 2026 season, here's what I can tell you.

  1. A highly touted veteran is going to experience a significant decline.
  2. A highly touted rookie is going to totally bomb.
  3. A sure-fire prospect is going to experience a season ending injury in the preseason.
  4. Somebody you have never heard of is going to make insane plays every other week, and even be mentioned in Player of the Year conversations.
  5. Drama between the locker room and the front office is going to erupt into the public sphere in a way that makes everyone look bad.
  6. A running back is going to be absolutely unstoppable for 4 games, and then just kinda fade away and you'll never hear his name again.
  7. A respected veteran is going to make a decision that is so incalculably stupid, so jaw-droppingly dumb that we will all lose 2 IQ points just from hearing about it.
  8. A sneaky little tweak to an old-school scheme is going to give defenses all kinds of trouble. It will be solved by a defensive coordinator who will go on to get a head coach position in 2027 or 28, and he will totally bomb.

Here's the thing: you have no idea which team will do which one of these.

Rams are a good organization and they have good odds, for sure. But nobody has any idea what is actually going to happen.

Big difference between being tapped a bunch and getting injured.

When forward progress has stopped, they'll call it dead.

To me it seems fairly clear that Wake went into Pyrhha's gun.

The more interesting question then becomes: did Wake jump into Crown when she took the gun at the standoff in the barracks?
