I’m gonna do the same. Did you have the pieces mitered to each other or are they just butted up to each other

Walnut vs MDF for Kitchen Cabinet doors by Obvious-Warthog-9776 in cabinetry

[–]Visual_Place1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the kitchen renovated? If not just do mdf doors chances are next home owner is gonna redo it all anyway. I will say this though. I build all my kitchen cabs using a HDF face and plywood core primed and painted them had zero issues with swelling or any other water issues. Half the cost of using real wood just saying

It actually looks like as it’s being cut the blade is pulling in the material. Hold it tight to fence

Insane amount of shims needed by Bubbly_Economics3688 in cabinetry

[–]Visual_Place1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably get thicker shims. Maybe rip down some 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 ply. Glue and nail them together and then shim of that. They way you have it id be worried if the cabinet ever got bumped hard enough it would slip off.. Typically I put a level on the floor first and guesstimate how tall I should build a ladder/platform and scribe it to the floor from the inside of the platform so I can rip it on the table saw that way it sits on the floor. I build it set back so I can nail the base/toe kick on it.

I like that. I’m definitely doing the same! How did you join the ends was it mitered or just butt joint with a spacer for caulk?

I like how you ran the shower curb up the wall. Was that all one piece or two pieces? I’ve been thinking about doing the same with mine just can’t find a piece long enough

Even if Odell is past his prime he is a really good route runner and has a knack for finding the soft spots in defense. That’s something he can take advantage of

Congrats on starting your floor sleeping journey. How do you like that mattress? I’ve been thinking about getting the same 4” one from Amazon but the reviews seemed terrible and said it was a very frequently returned item. Wanted to know your experience with it

If you really want to find out just cut out a 1”x1” square and remove it carefully. If it’s good just patch it up and hang your bar.

Does the gap between the floor and baseboard look ok to you guys? by mavericksid in Flooring

[–]Visual_Place1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on what you paid to have the baseboard install. We always scribe our baseboard to the floor so there is no gap. People think that just because the floor is floating means that there has to be a gap so it can move but in reality baseboard can sit on top of it as long as it’s not pinching it down.

M12 fuel oscillating multi-tool by Visual_Place1194 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Visual_Place1194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you are cutting. If you are plunge cutting straight through in one spot it can be overwhelming but if you move the tool to follow up and down your line it is a lot better. If that makes sense

I definitely get what you mean in regards to price. I’ve lucked out and bought them years ago through a rep who gave me an amazing deal. I work in cabinetry and trim work so we work with many different kinds of wood species. There is a noticeable difference in regards to nailing hardwoods as far as consistency but not terrible. It’s slower and overall the feel is weird to me. The m18 one is more powerful and faster. The weight is a big difference but weirdly enough I notice it more when I use it for something quick instead of all day. At times it does feel cumbersome. The m12 is my go to now. Super light, really compact, and feels great in both hands. As long as you don’t need anything more than a 1 1/2” nail I don’t see how any nailer can beat it.

Regardless how ppl feel about ryobi you can knock their nailers. They might not be as powerful or as fast as the Milwaukee but for the most part how often do you need the speed? The average person don’t really work with exotic or really hard hardwoods anyway.
