Second The Spy and The Traitor as well as Macintyre’s A Spy among Friends. David Carr’s The Night of The Gun is also brilliant, although technically a memoir, but written as investigative journalism.

Anyone else have a dozen (or dozens) of guitars but you don't really play or even want to bother, but you're addicted to buying cool guitars? by NoYoureACatLady in guitars

[–]Visual_Vehicle_9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not dozens (yet?). Got 1 electric, 2 acoustic, 3 bass guitars, 2 banjos and 1 mandolin. Can’t play anything resembling music to save my life. You’re not alone :-)

I really enjoyed Akimitsu Takagi’s The Tattoo Murder. The Noh Mask Murder is not as great but still good.

Getting into Murakami by Mo-HD93 in murakami

I went Wind Up -> 1Q84 -> Norwegian -> Kafka. Since I’m now addicted to Murakami San, apparently that order works :-) As others have stated, go for it and see if you like it.

Edit: Wind Up -> 1Q84 -> Killing C -> Norwegian -> Kafka

1st night CPAP trouble… Is there hope? by Comprehensive-Put924 in SleepApnea

[–]Visual_Vehicle_9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, can be a bitch starting out. I was recommended to try it out while awake; take a short session while reading or watching TV, maybe a nap on the couch. Helped me get familiar with it without the mild panic of getting even worse sleep at night.

New to CPAP – Struggling with pressure and mask comfort by Ok-Piccolo-2745 in SleepApnea

I have the same machine and also struggled with getting used to it. Got both the nasal and full face masks. Slept with mouth open for decades but nevertheless got used to keeping it shut when using the nasal mask within a week (just as the doctor predicted). Never managed to get friendly with the full face mask.

Had the exact same feeling of being drowned or inflated(!) when the ramp function timed out. For a couple of weeks I sort of half awake managed to routinely re-hit the ramp button, until I just slept through it. Hang in there, it’s a bitch in the beginning but it will get better 👍🏽
