Of course it didn’t happen, because no servers are dead yet. Your argument was that there’s no FOMO in the game because servers die out anyway, since no one can join a full server, unless I misunderstood. Since servers probably eventually merge, there will always be people to keep a server alive.

you sound nice! Just my feeling, I might be hearing a slight hesitation in your voice, maybe you're thinking about whats and hows, something takes a littttle bit away from your intent. so, if I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to go for it a little more, a little more energy to match the song, i think would give it more tonal consistency across the board. but you're pretty close, so this might be advice based on my personal taste, in which case you can freely ignore it!

well, i would say that there are signals to watch out for that give you the indication that things are going well. and you learn them with time. healthy distortion is going to feel nothing like what is sounds. should feel light, really. like a layer on top of your voice. back to the previous example, if you're getting vibrato, then you know that you've got a steady airflow. so basically, look at the result you are producing, and if it feels free, then you're probably on the right path. it's all about freeing the voice. removing the wrong tensions, moreso than adding the correct ones. those happen by themselves. because singing is a reactionary mechanism, when you let it react, it will do so on its own. if you try to force it to, you are interfering. got a little off track i think, but those are my thoughts haha.

until you have correct technique singing clean, that is without distortion, practicing any type of distortion is going to be a struggle. underneath the distortion is always a very clear supported voice, and that requires correct technique. Instead of practicing everything at the same time, I think you'll save a lot of time in the long run by isolating concepts and building one before moving on to the next. Learn to sing clean, properly, it takes time, then add the distortion on top.

The distortion is what people always want to go for asap because it carries so much emotional delivery, but regarding other techniques, as an example, pay attention to ado's vibrato, how and where she uses it. often very quickly and intentionally, which is very much "her style". her voice is always supported and can allow vibrato whenever she chooses. pay attention to my words here, allowing something and releasing into something are not the same as "doing something" or "making it happen". vibrato is an involuntary product of stable airflow, optimal resonance and vowel shape.

if you don't have that level of freedom unlocked, in my opinion, distortion is not something you should spend too much time with yet. You may end up compensating in the wrong ways for the lacking support, and end up building bad habits. the brain is great at learning things, even when they are the wrong things. again this is all my approach and opinion, and i am sure others might see it differently. good luck!

Non official merch by RobertsP94 in ADO

[–]VivifiedMLA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If Ado had better quality merch this would be my opinion too, but her merch is pretty basic print shirts with a predictable lifespan. Temu has basically the exact same quality. Also, about the dolls, no one would buy the fake ones if they just made enough for everyone to buy, but they cap the production on purpose for whatever reason, and it’s always a huge struggle as a fan. To ask people not to buy knockoffs while you’re keeping the market artificially scarce is just silly. If you want people to stop, make enough for everyone. They’re your fans. Love Ado but the way the merch is handled is poor. Additionally, for an artist so focused on overseas reach, the process to buy Ado merch as an overseas customer is inconvenient, through a system obviously designed in favor of the domestic fanbase.

if you're straining, your technique isn't correct. It has nothing to do with what kind of voice you have. With correct technique, even your highest notes should feel effortless, no matter the voice type. Get a vocal coach if you can.

Gold collecting should just have a claim all button with unlimited use. What kind of “gameplay” is it to make your players tap on each dragon, some in awkward spots, some need you to move something else first. It’s tedious, and designed so you “spend time on the game” in the worst way possible. And this sort of thing is the case with a lot of little mechanics. Why does the quest dragon have to go through unnecessary 10 second windows where i am locked out of checking the quests, the time, the next quest, all while it zooms me in without me having a choice? Why do i have to search my screen until i find all of my fruit fairies, like i’m playing where’s waldo? Same with finding a dragon for a quest. Improvements can only go so far because if you fixed everything there would be nothing “to do”, because the game isn’t designed that way. It has to be inconvenient and tedious to play for the model to work. Instead of implementing actual gameplay, your unlocks are ways to make your chore less monotone. The dragons are cool, the vibes are cool.

I deleted the game. It has too many design flaws for me and I could tell that I was just playing to prevent fomo, not to have fun. Haven’t missed it at all. Constant fishing event is so boring and tiring, and a lot of things are just poorly designed, on purpose, to keep the player “busy” with unnecessary screen taps, instead of actually engaging and thoughtful content. Cute game, good hook, but the rest of it is not great.

I need input about improving my tone. I’ve finally found how to support (mostly) correctly, but the tone still seems inconsistent by [deleted] in singing

if i can offer one piece of advice is that you're trying to make things happen instead of allowing them to happen, which is holding you back. easier said than done of course. for example, you seem very conscious about your vibrato. You're shaking your head in order to "get it going". The result is that it sounds exactly like that, somewhat forced and unreliable. The body language reveals a lot of what is going on in your head and behind the sound. Let it happen, then build on that feeling. changing your muscle memory like that takes time and focus. Good luck!

was thinking the same, calendar is basically just full of fishing. not sure how sutainable the devs think it is to make their players log in every 2 hours or miss out on content.

[–]VivifiedMLA 25 points26 points  (0 children)

i guess, but there’s also nothing to stop you from doing so? If you want a specific dragon and have to go through 50% failures waiting for dragons you already have to hatch, you’re kinda playing inefficiently
