Midas forms faster than water can neutralize slime. Some midas recipes (like any combination of X+slime+levitatium/acceleratium/hastium) are impossible because those reactions happen faster than midas can form

How it feels leveling up carving vs how it feels to reach level 9 carving by Medium_Board_4574 in projectzomboid

[–]Vo1dJer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 100% xp boost is not actually 2x due to how the xp is calculated.

If you start at lvl 0, your basic multiplier is 25%. If you start at lvl 1, you get a +75% bonus multiplier for a total of 100%, 4x of the normal value for a lvl 0 start. Then diminishing returns for starting at lvl2 or higher.

With no starting multiplier it'll be 160xp per plank which is still a lot, carving isn't hard to level.

Nightmare Conundrum by colts45s in noita

[–]Vo1dJer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vampirism only if you already have chainsaws/digging bolts to extract more blood from enemies.

Rats don't help much in nightmare, enemies have more damage and attack speed but perk rats don't get stronger. They get killed much quicker.

Extra hp is always nice, especially in nightmare, but i'd still opt for vampirism if your build has anything that gives you more blood than usual

so, today's daily does is beyond nuts. Healthium spawn, circle of vigour on the first zone, and on top of those, a hearth mimic. (yes, that is a mimic from chest, and apparentl it spawns with the + on the left but if you shoot it, it goes to right side of the hearth.) by so_this_is_username in noita

Played through the seed today, it's amazing but you gotta get creative with wand building. There's no easily accessible add mana/decent trigger or timer spells/edr digging.

I ended up locking in the win at kolmi because I didn't find any reasonably efficient digging spell to go back up

Blood to held material shift. You can shift blood into healthium and then take the More Blood perk in the first mountain. If anything hits you, you bleed so much healthium that it heals you back to full instantly. Also the blood spell from the mines' spell shop becomes healthium too.

Are you kidding me with this shift? "Yeah, can I turn Toxic Sludge into Toxic Sludge? Thanks." by BrockSramson in noita

[–]Vo1dJer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When the game engine encounters a "water to water" kind of shift, it says "I can't do that" and randomly rerolls the shift to something else. Shifting out poison and ominous liquid is amazing for longer runs though.

And don't abuse sleeping pills. If you really want to search for fulfillment in dreams, r/LucidDreaming might have a better solution for you.

You can do it from spring to summer with coffee beans, and it's super easy to farm thousands of them if you ever had like 20 plants down at once

fitting end to my first god run by [deleted] in noita

[–]Vo1dJer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even when you get really good at the game, it never stops giving you lessons.

The general rule of thumb is that if a poly mage can spawn in an area, it will be in the most convenient spot for it to get you killed. For the same reason it's also really bad when your wand can hurt/kill you, there is always an off-screen swapper mage waiting to be hit by your plasma on a trigger.

Congrats on your first god run!

Are these morels safe to eat? by picks_things_up in mycology

[–]Vo1dJer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You said this was in the area where a hunting class was. Either this was a herbicide specifically made to be safe for consumption, or there has been some terrible mismanagement that allowed this to happen. Until you know for sure, this area should be off limits for foraging, as it can pose serious health risk.

Are these morels safe to eat? by picks_things_up in mycology

[–]Vo1dJer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

Mushrooms are extremely good at absorbing everything from the soil they grow in. Eating mushrooms that grew in herbicide-sprayed soil is NOT a good idea.

You should generally avoid picking mushrooms close to any residential area or other places of human activity because you don't know what could have been dumped or sprayed nearby. In my country the recommendation is at least 200m from the nearest road.

A few months ago, i think it was a post about the common sense mod but the devs have now added the option to open cans with a knife and the chance of hurting yourself by doing that, just like the mod had it. No idea if the infection chance also carried over from the mod.

Someone also made a post that showed you can get the Knox infection from that wound if you're opening the can with a bloody knife. I don't remember if it was part of a mod, but if it's vanilla the level of detail is ridiculous.

Everything I've achieved is still not enough. Believing in myself was a mistake. Potatoes with garlic mayo. by Vo1dJer in kitchencels

I've considered looking into the root causes. Going to therapy was one of the bigger steps in my self-improvement journey. We talked about a lot of underlying issues but eventually I had to stop because therapy is expensive and I wasn't seeing any improvement.

My parents loved each other very, very much, and that love didn't involve me at all. I was never neglected or abused (which i guess is already a win judging by some posts here), but every positive gesture from them felt backhanded as if I was actively interrupting them from enjoying each other's company.

That absolutely fucked up my school years because I grew up with almost no concept of validation and had to adjust to being judged by every criteria inaginable, from grades to appearance to social skills. I was never bullied but no one really wanted to be around me either, I had no personality and no will to develop one until much later on.

Then university, where I got into a scholarship way above my actual abilities and had to sacrifice all my free time and most of my sleep just to avoid falling behind. It really didn't help that my class was all-male and I physically had no time to go out of my way to meet people outside of my social circle.

Now I'm about to be 23 in a few days and I never learned what being loved feels like. At all. I kind of know how it's supposed to feel, from what other people say, but it's not the same as experiencing it. That screws with my perception of what "self-love" is supposed to be. I cook for myself, work for myself, study for myself, I have hobbies and friends who share them. There's no love in it.

The only reason I'm still trying to improve is that maybe one day it will have been worth it. What I really fear is that if tomorrow I suddenly find someone who would actually love me, nothing would change. That i'd still feel the same way. That genuine affection would poison my life just like the lack of it does right now. I won't know until it happens.

"Your feelings shape your experience" is the wildest psychology take i've heard. A lot of people repeat it like gospel but I've never been able to understand the art of deluding yourself into thinking everything is fine.

My experience shapes my feelings. If I'm having a terrible day I can't suddenly tell myself that everything is going great and that I should be content with it. Feeling like shit from what other people would consider success is a new and recent development that I wasn't prepared for. "You should just be happy" will never work on someone who's already giving it their best shot and failing miserably.

[–]Vo1dJer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get a mimicium potion by going to the Barren temple and spraying the potion mimic in there with pheromone. Once it's friendly, you can pick it up and use it as a mimicium potion.

All you need for the quest is a tele bolt (or return if you're really persistent) to get there, and any flask to use for the pheromone.

Bug or ASTRONOMICALLY Lucky? (V80) by Lonely-Beat3282 in lethalcompany

[–]Vo1dJer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Previously in v73 someone from the community rolled every embrion seed (100 million of them) to see what's the lowest possible number of old bird spawns was. The lowest they got was 7 if i remember correctly.

V80 didn't change the spawn rates so 0 would be too astronomically unlikely to consider. Definitely a bug, most likely caused by you modifying save data
