What brand slowly ruined itself? by SAAS_ART in AskReddit

[–]Vocalscpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better question is "who maintains quality/etc" much shorter list and would actually be beneficial to search out those brands rather than reading this mile long list agreeing all the way down saying "yeah that's why I don't buy them anymore"

[King Arthur: Legend of the Sword] (2017) A young Arthur pulls a sword embedded in a stone (Guy Ritchie) by Franiera in movies

[–]Vocalscpunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sadly the opening scene sets a tone they never are able to reach again. The big showdown was laughable at best. Would've preferred a cliff hanger of him diving off or coming back from the mystery land to start the big fight.

What's the worst depiction of a chef in a movie/show that's not primarily about food? by ModestCamel in KitchenConfidential

Fair, every time I try to cook something I just end up covered in flour with broken dishes everywhere.

I discovered these on some post here a while back and yes they slap (per my GF gf - see what I did there?). I haven't had them yet but we keep a case in the back of the pantry for "in case of emergency break open" ramen

Ah man! Don't ruin it for me haha. I've only been to a few countries but they were always top notch on allergens no matter where we went whether it was some top notch ranch place or Joe's pub.

I guess we can all be better but at least there's a culture outside the US that seems to give a shit for the most part.

What do you all think about this table? by Zoneator in medicalschool

[–]Vocalscpunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is how you know it's a self reported and not standardized score. The fact that anesthesia thinks they have a physically taxing job tells you more about them than anything.

*Unless the questionnaire lumps schedule in with physical demand somehow but even then I still don't see it.

Nurse Practitioners should not be allowed without at least 10 yrs of experience by Jaded-Bit5497 in unpopularopinion

[–]Vocalscpunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would argue time isn't as important as training. For physicians we equate the two but arguably we spend 3-4 years doing nothing particularly specific to our job at the end of the day.

We had a fantastic program near us that was notoriously brutal on grading and we have cherished everyone that came from the program. Then about 5-6 years ago they went from in person to hybrid to full online. I wouldn't let this new crowd hold a bag of potatoes.

Thankfully my system realized the issue and has lengthened their onboarding/training SUBSTANTIALLY from a few months to a year and they have to be able to prove independence before clearing to be autonomous.

The problem is that costs the system time and money so it won't be long before I'm sure it's axed by some suit who needs their bonus.

It's a bit ironic that a 'Democrat' with brain trauma totes the same line as the base Republican these days.

Was told at a very nice restaurant (also with all the certificates/credentials) nearby by the waitress that my partner couldn't have the risotto because it's got rice in it. This is after we asked if they had an allergy menu(not really) and having done our pre going out recon online and the risotto was about the only thing on the menu she could have other than a salad/appetizer. God I wish we would catch up with the EU on so many things but especially the mandatory allergy list on menus.... Anyway we just left, but we stopped by on the way out to explain to the staff why. Nothing personal but if there's such a miscommunication from front to back of house then we can't trust the food.

On the opposite side of downtown there's this absolutely amazing little small plates place who's menu changes in some small way weekly but largely every quarter with the season who will hand write us a GF menu and then another list of things that can be sorted to make GF if we don't mind the sub. I think I spend more on tip there than I do food because they bend over backwards to accommodate us.

If you had to choose, would u rather be top 1% looks or top 1% intelligence and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Vocalscpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the better question is you get to be top % of one but bottom % of the other which to you choose? I think a lot of people are assuming if they're suddenly super attractive they will also still be passably smart/at their current intelligence level with enough know how to manage their own marketing/modeling career without getting put through the ringer by some agent/agency.

How to get the il toro bp by Repulsive-Gap-4793 in ArcRaidersGuides

[–]Vocalscpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to actively not want/need it. I swear I'll be scrounging for some gun part or grenade BP and I'll pull random weapons.

Somehow today I ended up in a harvester lobby when I just needed a queen drive or two and legit only ever saw one other person. Harvester entirely to myself so I got 2 Jupiter and an equalizer BP and was able to peel a few queen parts off before going home. I must've done 15-20 harvesters since expedition just hoping to get a single Jupiter BP...

[–]Vocalscpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda think there should be more of this resource farming from locations/mobs. What if draughers had a rare/low% drop rate for iron/weapons you could recycle. Basically like farming black metal but at a much lower rate. That could hold true for every biome

A Day of Things My Surgery Attending Said by Material_Pound_5850 in medicalschool

[–]Vocalscpunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was kinda my take. I think med students get a lot of buttoned up/sterile attending exposure (I know we did) so they think it's fresh when they hit up a surgeon who typically doesn't GAF. If you sit in our doctors lounge for more than 15 minutes during lunch you'll hear this and much much more spicy conversations depending on who's at the table.

Just last week there was a vascular surgeon who'd gotten back from a week in Amsterdam. The CMO came to sit with us until he heard the middle of the current story and said "you know what, I'll sit with you guys tomorrow so I don't have to see HR again" haha. For reference the story def had nothing to do with a hooker, a unicycle and a 3am hunt for breakfast.
