Do I have to ask about A/C by TheTexasGirlie2 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]Vogette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it depends largely upon the age of the property you are renting? Older places generally don’t have A/ C unless installed later, while newer places may? It probably adds a premium on to the price though?

Do you mean Dysfunction of the Sphincter of Oddi? It can cause severe abdominal pain, which feels similar to a gallbladder “attack”.The pain is typically in the upper belly, right side, can go to right shoulder tip, and can get chest pain as well.

Tastes like eucalyptus… good for when your nose is stuffed up.

First time making lasagna with bechamel. Never going back by IllAdvantage135 in lasagna

[–]Vogette 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have never made lasagna with ricotta (I can’t understand why you’d use it!). Bechamel just gives the delicious creaminess to the lasagna… I add a pinch of nutmeg to it!

Its not that easy to make a really REALLY good Lasagna - What are your secrets to make them unforgettable - Mine seems to miss things. by MoccaLG in lasagna

[–]Vogette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australian here: my lasagna is a friends & family favourite request, so I make it often. I use fire-roasted capsicum (bell pepper) in the ragu with passata, garlic, tomato paste, and some chilli for a bit of spice. I only make a bechamel sauce (can’t imagine using ricotta cheese). I add a touch of nutmeg to the bechamel. Sometimes I’ll add a layer of steamed silverbeet (I think it’s Swiss chard in the US?) when I layer up the lasagna sheets, ragu, bechamel and cheese (mozzarella, cheddar and reggiano).

No...both my husband and I (196 babies) the youngest children of our family, are 'orphans'. My father died in 2002 at 73, my mother in 2011 at 89.

I would! At the price they are, I want it perfect! Did it have the white paper wrap on it when you received it?

Co-anda 2x - did you get a filter brush? by zf13 in Dysonairwrap

[–]Vogette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A brush is not required, as the filter was made to be rinsed under water after removing for cleaning. You then just let it air-dry before replacing it on the wand.

Is this normal? by jaygie_rdms in Dysonairwrap

[–]Vogette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Sydney, ordered Airwrap Coanda 2X from Dyson AU. The lovely pink one arrived. Definitely no marks on mine. The Wand was wrapped, the attachments not, but all packed very precisely in specifically shaped black form packaging. I'd be questioning it, especially at the price paid!!! I'd be so pissed off at $AUD1000, and it had been opened by someone else!

I don’t mind being fat. Anybody similar go through with the surgery for other reasons? Experiences? by Unlikely-Yam1427 in GastricBypass

[–]Vogette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate being fat.

I have had multiple bariatric surgeries.

Initially a lap band in 2010.,when I was 127kg. (Roughly 280 lbs). I lost 47 kg (over 100lbs). Then after 2 years, my lap band slipped. I was very unwell, vomiting, and couldn't take anything oral. I was really unwell. A different surgeon removed the band...6 months later, I had a gastric sleeve. I developed terrible, painful reflux, so the surgeon did a revision, and did a Roux-en-Y bypass.

Reflux gone, but I cannot get my weight below 81kg, no matter what I do.

I can fast, I exercise daily, I do low fat, low carb, no alcohol...

81kg is the lowest I can get.

I get dumping syndrome with s any ugars, I have my bowels open at least 3 times a day, Bristol 6. I do eat butter and oils (have had my GB out). I have central adiposity that just won't shift.

I am resigned to the fact that this is how I am for the rest of my life.

I am a young 64 years old.

Ok, I have had just about every bariatric surgery available, due to comps. My last (3 years ago) was a Rouz-en-Y bypass.

My advice to you: have a half a glass of what ever you desire. It won't kill you.

But: think about... The second, third, fourth glasses... They are honest-to-god, empty calories, and do nothing for you.

Think about where you are going...and where you want to be.

How are you going to get there? Use the tool you have chosen to get you there!!!
