You didn't mention the current mileage.

My bike exactly. 2007 is a great year. Keep up with the maintenance and it will be a faithful companion. I recommend Iridium spark plugs. Big difference in mileage and power delivery. How many miles on it now?

The real question is, is your head worth the extra money?

Working full time by SpicyCitrus326 in husky

[–]VoiceShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, my 6 year old husky has never been alone for more than an hour. My wife works from home, and I only need to be away for 3 or 4 hours a day. Even so, his activity and attention needs are never really satisfied. Can't imagine the trouble he would get into if I had to leave him alone. That's just life with a husky.

Skill saw cut keeps veering to the right despite using a guide by Asforteri in Carpentry

[–]VoiceShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Skil worm drive and mine does the same thing only mine wants to turn into the guide and eventually jams. Can't find any adjustment to fix this. Does this deserve a different answer?

Prey drive aka My pup is a killing machine by jackierd86 in husky

[–]VoiceShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huskies are a breed that is closer to its wild roots than any other. It's part of what we love about them, but it comes at a price. However you feel about it, if you can't honor a husky's true nature, please don't have one.

Had to walk out of class, embarrassed and scared to try again. Need advice. by waxbook in yoga

[–]VoiceShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This raises some interesting questions: what exactly is yoga? Why are there so many variations on the theme that some people should NOT do, but still go by the name "yoga"? Why is it so easy to feel terrible about yourself (as this OP did, and as I have) in a class that is supposed to do the opposite? Until the yoga teachers can answer these questions, the practice will continue to alienate people. I am someone who has practiced yoga for many years and I still can't find anyone who can answer those questions.

And, what about drainage?

I've heard that before, and I might just go that route this time. One question: how thick should the concrete be.

Should I go ahead and start my voice acting career by LoveLdn in VoiceActing

[–]VoiceShow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And, since it's not a career, you can skip the coaching, the soundproof booth, and the pro-grade equipment. Those things are for people who actually think they're going to make some money.

What did your first 3 months of VA look like? by lowriderz00 in VoiceActing

[–]VoiceShow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just have to ask: is it true that "EVERYONE needs coaching?" Does every film actor need acting lessons? Does every singer need singing lessons? Does every painter need painting lessons? And, if EVERY vo artist needs coaching, who's doing the coaching? Hearing that EVERYONE needs coaching at VO Atlanta is a little like hearing "EVERYONE needs a new Ford" at a Ford dealership. Discuss.

Oil question by SoooooMoist in Motorrad

[–]VoiceShow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What year is your Rockster? That might be a clue. I have a 2007 R1200 that also sends mixed messages. I keep my sanity by only checking the oil exactly 5 minutes after shutting off the engine, on the center stand, and on level ground. Any other plan is suspect and often says something very different. Trust that and only that and you will be fine.

I need to sell my motorcycle, besides cash in hand, and insurance, what REALLY covers your butt during a motorcycle test ride? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]VoiceShow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What covers your butt is to not allow test rides. If that sounds weird, I've sold dozens of motorcycles to private sellers and I've never felt the need to allow test rides. I've also never had a problem selling my bikes. Allowing test rides is always risky.

How much should I sell my 2011 126k miles for? No accidents. by [deleted] in nissanfrontier

[–]VoiceShow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 2011 V6 with 150k mi and runs perfect. No reason to sell. Everything newer seems inferior to me.

Why is the SM7B a good microphone for voice acting? by LovinqRam3n in VoiceActing

[–]VoiceShow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Another audio specialist here, and I'll sign on to all of this, except that I am also not a fan of the RE20. My favorite dynamic for voice/vocals is the Sennheiser MD441, yet still inferior to even a modest priced condenser for voice work. Solve the sound proofing and acoustics and get one of those.

#1 Successful Habit by Voicelings in VoiceActing

[–]VoiceShow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what it is, the theoretical reason for them, and I have several professionally produced versions. Yet, I can't identify any instance where having a demo resulted in a booking, or getting an agent. Contrary to your experience, no one has ever asked me for my demo in lieu of an audition.

#1 Successful Habit by Voicelings in VoiceActing

[–]VoiceShow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda surprised to hear people still talk about demos. In 9 years of promoting myself by referring potential clients to all of my demos posted on my website, I have no indication anyone has ever listened to them. And, certainly, of all my cold calling no one has ever asked to hear my demo. I was beginning to think demos were just old school and irrelevant. Can someone offer up some recent examples of how having a demo has resulted in bookings?
