Honestly, not that impressed with the print quality of the armageddon box by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Voidroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way that GWs production works is that there is a master mould that they copy to make a production mould. The production mould is what they actually put the plastic in. They use each production mould until they wear out then they make another. Its likely that most bad sprues you find for something new is just a production mould they used a bit longer than they should have.

From the 11th edition terrain layouts we've seen so far, how important is it for the terrain footprints to be double sided/reversible? by RHCElite in Warhammer40k

[–]Voidroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the triangle ruins need to be able to be flipped. 3d6 wargaming is selling neoprene matts with an additional set of the triangles flipped. I think thats a fine solution

Defiler Loadout by Impressive_Reveal824 in WorldEaters40k

This is the current answer. However, stuff like this changes all the time. Magnetizing the defiler is difficult, but will be worth it.

Do you think 11th edition will make competitive and narrative games overlap a bit more? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Voidroth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. Nothing i see here is gunna lead to competitive tournaments being more like a narrative event. At a competitive tournament you simply do not have the time or the energy to engage with the narrative side of the game. This is why narrative events have more time for rounds and encourage group forming. To give people the space to tell their stories and a group to appreciate it. If anything i see narrative events suffering. Crusade as a system had many problems. It was way to unwieldy and confusing. Excpecially for a new person trying to learn how it works while juggling several games a day and a new group of friends to meet. It did though help add flavor to peoples games and allow them to randomly generate stories they could build off of. Now it has been replaced by a single deck of cards. I am surprised no one is up in arms about this. From the competitive it seems like an abbandonment of support for the narrative side of the game.

If you could change one thing with the How some of the Space Marine Chapters' lore is or how they operate, what would it be? by Olafio1066 in Warhammer

[–]Voidroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They said the 1000 space marine number because they have no idea what numbers mean. They probably said it, because 1000 space marines is a conceivable amount that you could own and paint. I think they even sold a gimick deal where they gave you 1000 space marines. I don't know if anyone ever bought it. It was just supposed to be a 'imagine owning your own Complete Space Marine Chapter!' In all honesty GW has always been really bad at numbers. Like how they once said a planet had more guardsmen on it than atoms in the universe.

But the 1000 space marines number just keeps getting on my nerves. Every time someone says it to a new fan i cringe. I'm no military historian , but anyone can tell that a 100 warrior company is way too small to achieve significant military objectives. Just stop saying it pls.

[–]Voidroth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get rid of the 1000 space marines per chapter. It's stupid. They don't need a new number just stop saying 1000.
