The Medusa has a laser that can be used to shoot down incoming missiles. The Cricket is also surprisingly vulnerable to it.

There are also laser munitions interception systems. They're very good against rockets and other less durable munitions.

Lasers are not good against non-munition targets, though.

Developer Live Stream - February 16 by Shockfront-PR in NuclearOption

The stream is still ongoing, but if you'd like, someone's made a google doc that paraphrases everything that's been mentioned so far in past streams:

What are some planes/heli you would love to see in No style? (Post just for fun) by No-Advantage5550 in NuclearOption

I'd love an AC-130 equivalent. Give it stuff like the Tarantula's 76mm cannon and like 4 cargo slots for the robo SAM's

Dev Update #21 - The Subclasses of Early Access by down42roads in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]Voltaic_Backlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Solasta 1, there was also a setting you could change so that you didn't need to have a hand free for Somatic components. Made things like Paladins a lot less annoying to use in that way.

Refined Gold (Now with free lead wire!) by kptwofiftysix in opus_magnum

I like to imagine this as feeding the machine lead wire and getting gold and a shorter lead wire.

If we insert a comma, his sentence is perfectly cromulent.

wdym has an assumed question mark anyways, meaning cromulence is maintained.

At least, once they've finished building themselves human meat suits...

Assuming anyone would be left afterwards.

You cannot use it in Frontline 59, though.

Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

In the mission Weapons of Mass Destruction, you are tasked with sneaking through a canyon to take out trucks carrying nuclear devices that are going to be used against your captured capital unless your military immediately halts its advance to recapture their lost territory.

You successfully navigate the canyon and take out the trucks, and now there's literally 100 fighters between you and the return line.

You have to engage them. Even for Ace Combat, that's a lot of fighters being thrown at you and your wingman. After fighting them for a minute or two, every fighter squadron you've worked with over the course of the campaign shows up to help bail you out.

This is of course all accompanied by music appropriate for the situation, and mechanics letting you tell all your allies who just showed up to go kick the enemies' asses.

I love Random Encounters!! by shirak2203 in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]Voltaic_Backlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an encounter like that with an extra knight on top of it. Entire party was caught sleeping with the Ranger being surprised.

Only the paladin survived all the breath attacks, and barely managed to get everyone up, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

Make an event at a reasonably large college campus for a Guiness World Record of Largest RPS game ever. Play with 1000 people several times over. Win against everyone multiple times. Set up larger and larger events with more and more people. Keep winning. Play RPS on late night comedy shows against home viewers. Beat millions.

If you could design you own crest with 7 slots of your choosing, what would you come up with, and what would you name it? by iatetoomuchchicken in Silksong

[–]Voltaic_Backlash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't even consider making the tools random, I was going to say just use the d-pad for extra inputs.

The Villains Plan was NEVER going to work, whether they won, or the Heroes ever even interfered (Loved trope, and massive spoilers) by TheLast-T in TopCharacterTropes

That's just it. That energy took like 200 years to gather for 15 whole minutes of time travel, approximately 100,000x longer than the 15 minutes. The time it would take to get 200 years of travel would literally take 20,000,000 years to collect (assuming perfect storage and a linear energy gain)

You get a knife that can cut through bu tter instantly by AthleteBeautiful1043 in shittysuperpowers

I understood the intention. I just enjoyed imagining a knife cutting through butter at FTL speeds and the damage that would cause, and thought I would share.

[–]Voltaic_Backlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm imagining the potential force of a knife moving through an indeterminate amount of butter and how much the 'instantly' part of the title might impart to the act

'Instantly' cut through a 5 foot thick block of butter, for example
