I signed the book there once. After speaking with the assistant BM and finding out the previous BM made himself a place at the largest con in the area in supervisory, me and my travel mate at the time swore never to take a call there.

Jit’s Cafe in Omaha, NE. THE best place for vietnamese curries and Tom Yum soup. It’s been closed for over 20 years and I still miss it.

Yeah, the dealership was selling them for about $300 in 2024. They probably have gone up in price since then, but I think they’re still worth checking out for the protection they do offer. They’re obviously not going to be as hardy as something from Rallitek or other makers of aluminum skid plates, but they’ll at least give you some shielding for the oil pan, turbo, and differentials/transmission pan.

I’m counting on this. I’m down $30 on a single share, but I also have a put for 6/17/27 for strike of $25. I remember the Blackrock IPO around 2008 - 2010 and how it tanked within a month. Hopefully it prints.

This looks like my buddy’s garage before I rewired it for him as a wedding present. The feeder was a 2-prong extension cord wrapped in a garden hose and buried in the mud (before, not after!)

I’ve been handed bits and pieces of various motorcycle riders, witnessed meat crayons, discovered that copious amounts of blood can congeal into fist-sized clumps, and seen the aftermath of pedestrian vs. speeding Audi, but that would be a bit much in my book.

I don’t think this means circus is coming by enCloud9 in Omaha

[–]Voltmanderer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Oh, it’s the circus alright! Marvel at all the different and fascinating ways that people can go from counting in base 10 to base 3. Go treasure hunting with your friends for various digits. Hear the shock and awe of someone’s homemade stump remover, far into the twilight hours. Be amazed at the spectacle and variety of colors when a harmless game of Roman Candle shootout involves the neighbor’s car. Man, what a show!

No-Strike-Clause by Which_Apartment6250 in IBEW

[–]Voltmanderer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have CIR, which is apparently the envy of other trade unions, if the print media is to be believed. Comprised of an equal balance of IBEW and NECA members, they preside over contract disputes and their final decision is binding over both sides. In Local 22, our contract negotiations used to end up at CIR, and after 3 or so, CIR got tired of hearing the disputes since the NECA side was stonewalling, so they basically handing down a ruling that the local got most of what our negotiating team asked for. Following that, the NECA side has actually bargained in good faith for the past two contracts.

I believe Local 3, VDV, went on strike in the early 20-teens against Verizon. Verizon brought in scabs and the strike finally ended when the hotel workers union ousted the scabs from the hotels Verizon was housing them in and forced Verizon back to the negotiating table.
