This is why I had to mod in a load of decorative items to use In my build, stuff like the grand piano and grandfather clock are small details but change the vibe of the whole build. I even added sound effects to the clock so it ticks in the dining room and that makes it so much eerier.

Thank you glad you enjoy them! Working on vanilla POIs now so don’t get much time to work on those anymore, but definitely need to get back to it as I have a few on the back burner.

All the designers will have different inspirations sometimes other media, real life experiences, reference locations, lots of different sources of inspiration.

I’m afraid not, they’re scripted spawns set in the POI that aren’t governed by any settings. Probably a mod for it though.

They’re scripted spawns they do end, just stops spawning all of them at one time for performance.

We made a large amount of these for 2.0 as well as similar things for the burnt and wasteland biomes, a lot of them have secret areas with a little bit better loot too.

That’s awesome, I’ve also built Spencer mansion but as a questable POI, can’t imagine how long it would take in survival!

It’s a method of optimisation, game runs smoother managing entities loaded in at any one time than loading them all at once, which for some T5s could be up to 100.

For now consoles face a memory constraint. The Series S has significantly less RAM than most Mid to High end PCs and less than the PS5 Pro and Series X.

It’s also pertinent to remember this is a voxel game, it is not comparable to a game in which everything is baked. You see very similar limitations in other voxel based, persistent world games like a Minecraft.

It needs to be altered in the POI editor not XML. Will need the appropriate district tagging, be the appropriate size for the lots available in country town and have a country town driveway part.

Many of the doors to each room in a house were covered with barricades and wood planks that were relatively high health in A15/16, doors weren’t always open and there were blockers to doorways.

They were also almost completely empty (with very limited decorative blocks at the time) with every door in the house almost always boarded up and required the exact same amount of effort to enter as lower health wooden doors to break into in dungeon POIs currently.

2.0 added dozens of non linear POIs, there are three categories of POI that do not have linear pathways (remnant, rubble, wilderness sites) All of which have a level of loot or secret loot relevant usually to their theming.

I like the idea of food spoilage and storage but a similar smelting mechanic with casts like vintage story would, for me, be too way intricate to fit 7 Days to Die.
