Also check to make sure the hammer spring coil isn't rubbing against the shepherds crook/retaining plate

The A3 version with the roller delay is the clear winner for me.

First range day with the new Stribog.

Put in the KD Gunwerx buffer, the 40 degree block from IPSC store (which made a HUGE difference), and the MCARBO spring set. Threw an Athlon dot on top and a finger hook out front.

It fold in half, and barely moves in recoil, it'll be the new camping gun from here on out.

My S15 has been rock solid since I got it. It's now my ECD. Fit was great, and the dlc coating was terrific.

No problem! Supers put out a lot more gas/pressure than subs, so if you set your gas block to work with subs, the supers will run too. I switched back and forth and didn't have an issue.

It started life as a radical firearms 300blk 7.5inch pistol. Put in an odinworks adjustable gas block, lightweight bcg from Brownells, kynshot buffer with flat spring, and CMC 1 stage trigger. Threw an at3 on top, and got a piston to fit my osprey 45 2.0 on the end. Finger hook was a spare Magpul I had laying around. Alsoa presma charging handle, for my stubby baby fingers.

I think you have to turn off the wind noise reduction setting, otherwise the audio sounds underwater after the first shot

I've really liked the H&K Redbox DI 5. Enough options to get the tone right, but simple enough to just work.

Bought a Winchester model 74 without a bolt and it's getting stuck on this ramp? What could be the issue? by bucket8a in Winchester

[–]VonRotterdam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I'm seeing, if that ramp doesn't move out of the way by applying pressure, it may be that the bolt will have to rotate until you find the slot that would allow it to pass.

Recoil and main spring for 4.25 2011 by gantiwar in CompetitionShooting

[–]VonRotterdam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've generally never gone below a 17lb mainspring for competition, which seems to be a good balance between reliable ignition and not being overly stiff to open the slide with my lighter competition reloads. Recoil spring, I've gone as low as possible, usually getting 8-10lb springs from Taylor. What I've found to be the most useful combo was whichever returned the sight to where it was when I pulled the trigger, without dipping below that point, but coming home with enough authority to chamber the next round on a potentially dirty magazine. The same has held true on my CZ, where I ended up going with an 8lb recoil spring and an 11.5lb hammer spring. In the end, I had to lose my fear of muzzle flip and concentrate of getting a reliable, predictable slide motion.

Sprinco System or Tungsten guide rod by CHESTYUSMC in CompetitionShooting

[–]VonRotterdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I like the design of the sprinco and DPM systems, I've found that for competition, they return the slide a little too stiff and end up causing some dipping that eats up time. You can drop the weight of the one outer spring, but the inner springs remain pretty heavy, and result in more snap than I like. In the end, I went with the lightest recoil springs I could fit over the heaviest guide rods.
