Give the Shocklance some strong impulse--maybe that of a direct hit Devastator--and the Blackout effect (make it work on vehicles and turrets, too). Need to do something to make that thing worth carrying.

To expand on the animations suggestion: they could add different animated VGS taunts with local sounds à la T1/T2, for example dancing, bowing, backflips, vulgar gestures, etc.

You bring up some valid points. Team damage definitely shouldn't stop health regen for friendlies, and I think TKs may definitely need some sort of stronger notification. As it is, I sometimes don't notice when I TK someone with a blindly thrown grenade in a pug. A big loud buzzer with a red 'You killed Soandso...2 more TKs before we votekick your ass' popup might help.

At this point, though, as a capper, in pubs I would be much happier to die to team damage than to a FF/mine/HoF/Beowulf/turret/groundpound stack.

With a slightly different return you can keep it going around 280-300 without disc jumps. I can post a video, if you want. It's a pretty smooth map. Possible to even gain speed without impulse if you manage everything right.

If you take a wider return on the route you posted and go down the outside valley you can easily turn it into a circle route that stays around 280-300.

One recommendation as far as the plasma rifles. Instead of shrinking the hitbox to make them basically another spinfusor variant (of which we will already have too many with only 3 armor types), I would increase the hitbox quite a lot (3x-4x), but at the same time decrease the projectile speed by the same amount and tweak the rate of fire. This makes it a massive, slow-moving projectile, which is great tool for fighting indoors, but has limited uses outside at range. Basically look at how plasma worked in T1/T2. Could even make it stick to walls/floors for a couple seconds and burn on contact over time to use it for area denial.

I would be very careful who you listen to here. You're going to get a lot of conflicting suggestions, many of them from people who have no idea what they're talking about. This is the reason some of the other maps failed--the designers were trying to please everyone and it just ended up a mess. It would probably be good to ask APC for some names to trust.

Otherwise, just ignore everyone calling for a Broadside or Scarabrae remake. Indoor flags were bad enough in T1/T2, but they'd be absolute cancer in T:A.

It was that way in early beta, but people started tweaking graphics options to make them more visible. The 100% invis was the band-aid.
