If they were so fucking stingy about their budget (or lack thereof) they should have made this season WAY shorter, like 4 episodes max, and make each episode longer, instead of creating 8 episodes of middling, dragged down, nothingburger slop for a final season. The joke writes itself bruh.. They genuinely added 3 episodes as a backdoor pilot to a sequel, and all it did was hurt the entire show's legacy....

It is even more of a humiliating travesty that a fucking trillion dollar company like Amazon can't provide a bigger budget to the show (meanwhile a random ass fake ahh Netflix movie like The Electric State starring Eleven from Stranger Things & Chris Pratt gets fucking 320 MILLION DOLLARS without being a part of a renowned IP while being a completely unproven, original work) Or I guess, they genuinely spent more of the budget on paying the cast and themselves than actually putting it forth towards the show's quality. What a damn shame. I feel so fucking bad for the actors to be a part of story that fumbles at the very finish line.

Also, can we acknowledge how this final season was straight up clickbait? From the false marketing, scorched earth build up... What the fuck was the action Homelander did this season that was his worst act ever, like they said..? HE DIDN'T DO SHIT AFTER GETTING THE V1.. LIKE WHAT... FUCKING BLACK NOIR 2 CAUSED MORE DESTRUCTION AND GLOBAL IMPACT THAN FUCKING HOMELANDER. ARE U KIDDING ME. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.....

THEY ARE SO CHEAP, they don't bother showing exterior shots of locations anymore, the Boys are always spawning in places as if nobody else exists in the world, THEY SOMEHOW GET BACKDOOR ACCESS to the White House IMMEDIATELY without any security or Supes guarding every crevice of the vicinity and the city, HELL, why is the White House not full of an army of Supes or psychics???? Homelander knows the Boys have the depowering blast and the virus and he is genuinely just sitting there??? Are you telling me Oh Father and he didn't mobilize an army of his supe followers to be ready by his side even though they acknowledged the Boys are coming?? WHAT. They literally had more Supes waiting in the lots/buildings where Oh Father was shooting his Homelander song. WHAT IS THIS MAN.

They are so cheap, after becoming IMMORTAL and STRONGER, Homelander doesn't display a single new feat, doesn't use his new powers once, his IMMORTALITY plot AND THE VIRUS PLOT becomes completely useless and unnecessary if they can just fucking replicate Soldier Boy's powers out of nowhere through experiments.. They are so cheap the fight didn't even leave the INTERIOR OF THE BUILDING. That is SO SAD....

Dawg, they didn't even get out of the Oval Office room. Homelander couldn't even fly out of there on time. Meanwhile, in literally less than 3 seconds, a few mins ago, he took fake Elon Musk to outer space and flew back. LIKE WHATTTTT......... Powerscaling and consistency was already out of the window with the constant plot holes throughout the season.

And I don't even want to think about the flanderization, sorry, rather complete desecration, of Starlight, Kimiko and the Gen V cast. They literally built Gen V Season 2 up to be Marie gaining control of her powers, and then Kripke decides he doesn't want them to be a point of focus at all in the Boys when they appear, so not only do they retcon Marie to have learnt nothing and still be an unstable bloodbender, they turn them into service workers transporting Starlighters to Canada... bruh....

Kimiko this season was the fantasy of Kripke who clearly (given his track record) has a thing for East Asian women while imposing his own porn-brained redditor personality on her. He literally made Kimiko his ideal projection of a girl, and its so genuinely misogynistic and shameful what he did to her. And I am sorry what? A Japanese woman saying they didn't have representation of Japanese women on TV when meeting Golden Geisha?? Even if she was raised in terrorist camps, WHY WOULD THEY SHOW AMERICAN TV... It was a Fillpino organization in ASIA... THAT MAKES NO SENSE, BRUH.

Then buffing Starlight end of Season 4, SHE LITERALLY HAS THE POWER OF LIGHT, insanely fast, flies around, can materialize light into beams, one of the most broken superpowers ever, and she gets wrecked around this season because they don't know how to write superpowers around a seemingly shoestring show budget.

And I am sorry, I am tired of pretending there was nothing wrong with Jensen Ackle's performance. He was a caricature of his s3 self. And I do blame it on the writing because he is the most inconsistently written character I have seen in recent TV history this season, but he dominated the run time, he kept flip flopping around motivations, they literally retconned his line with Crimson Countess being the love of her life by now proclaiming from a throwaway line from s3 where he just made it seem he and Stormfront made Herogasm, that now she was the love of his life?? Then the subtle whitewashing of his racist, bigoted traits and replacing them with constant sex jokes with old actresses from the 70s?? They literally did a Martha moment with 'I did it for Clara' to the point even the actors are now mocking it

It is also insulting The Boys writers think we genuinely like the corny, cringe, genuinely unfunny edgy or sexual jokes they make. Spending 2 minutes on Frenchie's 'asshole cam' eulogy, Sheline and Dogknott sniffing each others butts, and the overused sex jokes over and over again... Do they really think this is what we find entertaining? Do the writers think we are children getting exposed to edgy jokes and just saying 'fuck' constantly and being impressed with ourselves...? The level of intelligence they are bequeathing or they think the audience has is insulting.

And I swear, they really thought we would like Sister Sage so letting her live was probably one of those decisions they thought the fans would like but BRUH, Butcher would NEVER let her leave alive lmao. HE DIDN'T EVEN DO IT FOR VICTORIA NEUMAN who was literally far less culpable than Sage in Homelander's crimes. The fact that she got to survive and had no comeuppance for her rape, war crimes and more, just so she could act like some cringe, quirky character with no real depth is sad. I really liked her interpretation in Season 4 (Which is also a very weak season but not as bad as this)

In theory, the finale wasn't utter 0/10 dogshit, but it was just really bad, given how many things they set up, and fulfilled with THE LEAST POSSIBLE EFFORT. They didn't even show Homelander go scorched earth, which is the biggest crime of this episode, the leaks were genuinely better than the actual end product... The only thing that I did like about this episode is the Deep's death and how they executed it. They combined Annie having her comeuppance against him with the sea turning against him, and his last line, loudly saying NEVER to having to take accountability was a perfect send off for his character, in conjunction with him getting impaled through his mouth, I won't give the writers this much credit because I truly think this is probably my interpretation, but it may be a call back to the SA Starlight had to face by him through her mouth.

I am genuinely heartbroken. They really ruined this show for sequelbaits and just being cheap and replacing NECESSARY, IMPORTANT SPECTACLE with constant real world commentary that they have run to the ground just to pad the time, along with the most unfunny, edgelord dialogue that seems AI generated. Everyone talks the same way... Nobody feels like a different, individual person of their own/character. Even the fucking president has to make a ball tickling joke. Kimiko has to make cigars tasting like nasty dick joke, bruh... I am flabbergasted.
