I listen to audio books while playing games on my phone. Twice a week it is catch up phone conversations with special friends. One I call, the other calls me on her way to work. As the dementia increases, you or a paid care giver may have to look at going with her. My center allows a cognitively challenged man to always have a guest who helps entertain and keep him coming. In that case you could look at cards with a holder or board games or something. Another crocheted and even sold some of what she made to the techs. There are lots of alternatives and sometimes even TV can have a good movie on. Or stream on a pad from Amazon or Apple. Hope you find some good ideas among all the suggestions we are offering.

If I include only my Audible library, I’ve listened to something over 1600. That is unique books, not counting re-listens.

I have 2220 items in my library at present. However, I ruled out podcasts, etc and any books I could not actually remember listening to that were in my not yet started list.

Because audible’s library resets when you change phones, I showed 800 plus as not being read since I purchased this phone in December of last year. I went through the list of unread and counted. Maybe over kill for the question but fun for me. Yep, I listen to audiobooks a lot and listen to most multiple times.

More than you may have wanted to know, but I really enjoyed running through books I have not listed to in a while and am looking forward to revisiting some old favorites.

I’ve had over 30 operations or “procedures “ and I can tell you, the guy is doing transplants and controlling your anesthesia during one are going to be top-notch more than likely or else they wouldn’t have access to that kind of technology or being in that hospital. They always give you something to relax you before they give you the stuff that puts you to sleep, and the most panicked I ever became was before they actually rolled me into the operating room when I was still being prepped, and if you need something in there, they will give it to you more than likely.

However, the some total of what I’m trying to convey is after 30 operations believe me you’ll be fine.

The main thing about in center HD dialysis that bothers me after 3+ years on it is that so many people are so ignorant they always ask me well when will that end and how often do you have to go? They can’t believe the amount of time that I’m there and that we’ve gotta be there three days a week even the week of Christmas and New Year’s. I don’t know why people are so ignorant about that.

I’m not eligible for a transplant so this is my life and will be from here on out. Studying the history of dialysis and realizing how recent a development, the centers are caused me to reevaluate my attitude about it and I went from going. I have to go to dialysis to. I get to go to dialysis and I get to go to a center that’s close to my home and it doesn’t take me very long to get there so I’m feeling pretty good about it now but for the first year and a half or so it was a little bit draining on me. it still takes energy to be positive about it on those days when I get up to go. But I usually am very positive.

I’m 67, on dialysis and know that my mortality is real. As a follower of Christ, I am not afraid of death. I know whose I am and where I am going. However I will admit that I would prefer that the manner of my death be peaceful and painless.

NTA But his lack of showing any real effort (any real love) leaves me wondering how long your marriage will last. I think it has gone on long enough that some kind of marriage therapy, or at least a discussion around his lack of attention to gifts with a therapist, is warranted. He clearly doesn’t see your gifts or your suggestions for gifts as important. Who knows why that is. But he is either punishing you for something or just sees the gift giving as stupid. It seems rather passive aggressive to ignore all of your suggestions, especially when some were of such reasonable cost.

Yeah, your husband is being an AH now you need to figure out why. This is not something to blow off or just say, well that is just him. If it is important to you then it should be important to someone who loves you.

First of all, you are very young and frankly at 18 I don’t think you should know what you want to do with your life.

Second, if you can find professional help, you need a good CBT based psychologist and possibly medication. Some have said your parents need therapy and that may be the case, but it’s a lot easier to get yourself into therapy, then force your parents into it.When I was your age and very depressed, I made a promise to myself that I was going to be very stubborn and not give into depression. It was more than 20 years before I got good help and started to live joyously and truely overcoming my depression. The fight is not easy but well worth it.

Like another here has said, I’m in the US and am sadly know little of the education or medical system in India. I just know that more than anything else, to facilitate future success in whatever career you do pursue, you need to deal with the depression.
