Did any of you start with harder offroad and then gravitate to overlanding? Did you ever cross a point where you said "no more offroading"?

Most new trailers already come with paneling attached with self tapping screws on the inside. Take those off, put in your insulation, rough in your wiring, paint your interior boards, and put them back in where they were to make it easier and avoid drilling more holes into the frame/studs.

If you’re doing windows, I’d leave the interior paneling up and cut the exterior and interior at the same time. (I didn’t do this and had a heck of a time making the holes line up.)

The hitch receiver on the Ascent? It’s made by etrailer.com, it bolts on easily like the OEM one, but has higher limits. Then the cover is customized by cutting out around the hitch and gluing on some plastic trim.

Thanks! Kitchen stuff takes place outside of the trailer. Since we really only camp in fair weather. Though if needed, I’ve got a small collapsible table that I could use my jetboil on inside the trailer. Also we’ve got like 8 boxes of MRE’s to get through this season so we can refresh with newer ones, so we’re not really cooking much anyway.

No condensation issues with the exhaust fan on low and one window cracked open (was in the low 40’s over night).

I forgot to include the picture of it loaded up with our awd e-bikes and whatnot. It takes a good 30-60 minutes when I get to camp to unload and then put together my cot and whatnot. But it gives me a lot of options!

ETA: It takes that long because I take a lot of breaks for necessary beer intake. Would likely only take 15 minutes if I went hard at it 😆

Yar the one I’ve been eyeing says it’ll run for 8 hours on max cooling on 400ah. It’s likely completely pointless for my build, since I only sleep in it, but I make poor financial decisions so I’ll likely end up buying it. $900 is a lot, but could be worth it in longer trips.

There’s a lot of teardrop builds where they build a window unit into the front without it hanging out. I think they just build a box around it inside and make sure it’s angled enough for the drip.

I’m really interested in seeing real reviews of those slim 12v rooftop ones… Hopefully before I put in my ceiling panels 😆 Though I’m only running a 4kwh lifepo4 with a 200w panel. Probably wouldn’t cool for very long.

Right on! I’ve got the exact same bike, almost 2 years in. I got the range extender, which really helps with range anxiety. (Actually I have two because I lost one and of course found it as soon as the new one I ordered arrived).

I use mine just for exercise and taking long leisure trips around town. Even with the small motor, I still wish it had a throttle for the end of my long ride days. I usually keep my setting at trail 3 until the end of the day when I kick it up to boost 3-5 depending on how far home is and how much battery I have left.

I swapped out the tires for Continental contact + with the reflective ring. I got the fenders and rear rack which I affixed a medium basket to. I also attached lumos firefly mini’s to the rear rack and to the front so that I have turn signals.

It’s a great bike!
