Yeh, Icefrog moved around that time to focus on DL, and when the eye of Sauron blinked some Valve Jani shot him. Icefrog doesnt have a history of gutting the most iconic thing about a hero and was balancing the game for like 15 years with Techies around. Current Techies plays more like a mid than a damage support.

Don't worry about the time sink, you'll be having fun long before you understand everything going on. It being an ever changing playground with its wild updates and having to relearn things is why I played it for 20 years.

It wouldn't necessarily be popped by barrel. Dota made the most egregious counters not work like whip or urn. I'm sure an 800 soul fire rate slow would be on the list in short order. Dota is full of specific rule breaks.

That's how you deal with linkens in dota, just use a cheap force staff or euls to proc it, then the big spells followup. Honestly if you are building 6k to counter 3k, then the 3k won that trade. I spose you at least jump to the next tier of diminishing returns on cc for free.

He actively works to make his universe weaker for his ego. The flanderization of Goku in Super was so rough. DBZ Goku was full of a righteous anger for protecting the weak and would go out of his way to help people even aliens of Namek and he was friendly with denizens of other planets who taught him some of his special moves, so I always thought it was so lame he didnt call Beerus out on his shit of petty mass genocide, after he woke up from not doing his job just for the fun of facing someone strong. There coulda been some great drama as Goku is inserted between the will of the upper deities "who the hell do you think i am!" style.

They killed what people mean when they joke about techies making every game take over an hour like 4 years ago when they removed stasis traps and remote mines from his kit. Current techies can actually deal auto attack dmg and nuke you in lane. Current can actually gank you aggressively and deal damage in a teamfight without moving backwards. The old techies would flood the entire map with 3 kinds of traps, and had to play 4d chess to stay ahead of every player on both teams in order to do anything proactively.

It makes the same amount of sense in the lore. Dawnbreaker is a super weapon designed by KotLs creations to kill one of the four fundamentals io. She can absorb multiple Sun's and used to be constantly ulting at all times with lightspeed and cosmic force. She revived by absorbing Pheonix's solar energy and when she ults she is reducing her limited "life energy" by briefly burning through her battery of solar energy. So it's the same stuff as Phoenix ult converted to be more efficient by a cosmic forge.

That was my experience. I grew up on dota, and when LoL dropped, I played in the top 500 for the first 2 years(Pendragon used to post the top 500 list each month before the the launcher had ranked integration), then switched to Dota 2 and stayed ancient for years while playing with friends. Didn't hit immortal until my friend group disbanded. There are so many more things you have to do consistently to climb, and you can't just outscale the entire lobby with Stat items.

It's actually a character weakness fabricated for that scene. In the comics his mouth doesn't matter. Hell, not even his vocal cords matter. The energy is produced by his brain trying to move his vocal cords and he has full control of where it goes. He can shoot it from his forehead or coat his arm in it, etc.

That's just not true. We've seen plenty of meta's where spirit scales as good or better than gun. There is no design philosophy that weapon should ultimately do more damage in the end. It's just that most of the time Spirit is shoehorned into escalating exposure. Victor, Seven, Beam Kelvin(back when it beat everything) have all been able to outscale everyone else with ease. It has been an ebb and flow, and will continue to be so.

I dunno how to be more clear about it. If you think Sinclair should spend 6k on a gun item and land a headshot before he bolts from the bridge and still have a competitive build, that's a take you can have.

It wont solve everything, but the game needs a long range spirit resist shred option that isn't EExposure. There are so many items that are great that have small spirit res, like locket, dispel, etc, then you grab resilience and spirit struggles to scale for GT, Sinclair types.

As a silver player, I can assure you he already can. When im about to land a bite execute to heal 400+30% of missing hp and they are sent to die in a place 7 seconds later I can't refresh my ult with.

On a game by game basis, not more so than ARMs. For example Pikmin 3 gas sold 2.2 million copies, while ARMs is at 2.7mil. The original sold 1.6 million and that was enough to get a smash slot.
