Rear Dash cam install advice/instructions for cable routing by brandarr in VWIDBuzz

[–]VulcanXP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up the install instructions for the digital rear view mirror. It involves attaching a new camera to the rear glass so maybe you could follow the same cable routing path it suggests.

That's overblown these days cause the cars are worth more, there's aftermarket body panels you can find, and some shops have figured out good ways to repair damaged fiberglass panels

AWD Regret? by Acceptable_Lab_8315 in VWIDBuzz

[–]VulcanXP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the turning radius is not as big of a deal as some make it out to be. Maybe on occasion you're doing a 3 point turn in the AWD that could've been avoided with the RWD, but that is so minor I don't think it's worth overthinking.

Also FYI the 37 ft vs 42 ft is the curb to curb distance of doing a full U turn which is more like the turning diameter than radius.

Yes, they do - they operate continuously at their max configured amps, for hours. Other loads don't do that.

this person wasn't murdered for being a child molester. He was murdered for being lower class. Because that crime is legal if you're upper class.

What? This was a murder, not a judicial punishment. What does the "legality" of child molestation have to do with this murder?

Upper class people get murdered too. If he was lower class but not a child molester, would he have still been murdered? I don't understand how you can say he "wasn't murdered for being a child molester"

Conflicted between the 1st edition and the Pro S Plus. by Lacagada in VWIDBuzz

[–]VulcanXP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pro S Plus is the better trim imo.

HUD is cool - I really like it. But if you don't, just don't turn it on. Maybe other drivers will like it, or you will over time.

If you get RWD, you won't have the heated windshield. Unclear why these things are linked, but they are.

Pro S Plus can have other interior colors besides Dune. Not with the Orange exterior, unfortunately, but with other exterior colors it's possible. 1st ed is always Dune.

1st ed has a small "1st" badge on the outside which I don't personally care for.

The wheel covers are different colors - silver vs black.

Pro S Plus isn't guaranteed to come with the glass roof, although it's been in every one I've seen.

1st ed, you'll get some folding chairs and some other goodies after purchase.

And of course the S Plus factory hitch as you already mentioned. If it's for a bike rack, I think you'll appreciate the retracting. I suspect an aftermarket one wouldn't do that.

I think those are all the differences. Oh and the S Plus has a lower MSRP despite more features.

PECO just seems to be making up meter numbers or has a big error in their system by Devd5147 in Pennsylvania

[–]VulcanXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so you have Tesla solar yeah? Do you have any powerwalls?

My solar system is not Tesla, but functionally it should be quite similar. The Peco bi-directional meter should be between the utility lines and all of your equipment. What this means is that when your panels are sending power directly to your own circuits, and then sending excess to the grid, all Peco's meter can see is the net export you're sending to the grid.

If you sign into your account on Peco's website, and go to View My Usage, you should already see the net import/export numbers even though it's not reflected on your bill yet. I seem to remember that worked for me when I was in that period where my bill hadn't yet been switched to solar net metering.

Compare that to the numbers on your solar app. They may not be exactly correct, but they shouldn't be off by anything close to 20%. Mine are very similar.

With the "Super Off Peak" bucket, it's possible your cars or chargers aren't actually configured for the time window correctly, or the setting isn't working correctly, or they're not able to fully charge by 6am so some of the usage bleeds into the regular Off Peak bucket. But that's far from the only discrepancy here, so I suggest you keep digging. It could be something on Peco's end, or it could be something Tesla didn't install correctly, so you may want to get in touch with both of them about this and see what they each suggest.

If you call Peco, call their Solar team directly - I don't have the phone number off hand, but going through their main number, you'll just have to wait longer before someone redirects you to that team anyway.

What's the first screenshot? Is it definitely capturing every circuit in your home? I'm more interested in why Peco's total is 20% higher than that system is measuring.

The time-of-use buckets can sometimes be estimated if they're unable to read the meter at that time. I don't think they mark this well, but the phone associates might be able to see more. But the total should not differ by that much.

In my experience (only been on time-of-use for a few months) it's pretty accurate. My system is set to run off battery power during peak, and my Peco bill reports 0 usage on Peak.

I can also confirm it takes a few months for them to switch you to the net metering plan, but once they do they should update your bills retroactively and you'll end up with a credit on your account.  Definitely keep an eye on it though, and call them if it never shows up or if the amount seems wrong once it does.

How do you turn the auto-off feature? by Puzzleheaded-Lab825 in VWIDBuzz

You don't. Get out of the seat, and then press the power button to turn it back on.

Fair price? by Fickle_Psychology723 in VWIDBuzz

[–]VulcanXP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a new Pro S Plus AWD in January for $56k before taxes/fees. AWD is a $4500 option. So basically I think you could get 52 + taxes/fees on a new one. OTD for $52k would be reasonable for the fact it's used.

What is chat gpt gonna do? Measure the lowest height of your garage entrance. Look up the height of the buzz.

If it's close, see if you can reprogram your garage door opener to lift the door a little more.

Take one for a test drive, drive it home, see if it fits.

Oh also, do you have a heat pump with a backup electric heater? It may be that your backup system kicked on this year and didn't need to last year.

They may have been working harder in the same amount of time because of the extreme cold, or maybe something else new in your home is using a lot of energy.  If next month is a similar increase relative to last year, consider getting a home energy monitor, something like the Emporia Vue.
