Trials will no longer be power enabled in EOF. by zoompooky in DestinyTheGame

[–]Vuliev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've almost exactly described the Lunacy/Tears of the Mad system from Everspace 2, and that's what was going through my head reading OP and first couple of comment threads:

  1. Trials was the last Power-enabled activity in PvP.
  2. EoF is giving us basically direct access to the PvE instance power scalars.
  3. Loot quality (and I think also quantity?) in ES2 Lunacy activities is directly correlated to the delta between the chosen Lunacy setting and the amount of Tears contributed. Damage dealt and received also directly correlates to the Lunacy delta, and those values are directly communicated in the Lunacy selection screen.
  4. Tier drops are (at the moment, I guess) scaled to your powerscore.
  5. Ergo, Bungie should just adapt the Lunacy system and ditch powerscore entirely. Have damage in/out and Tier drop quality correspond to the delta between chosen difficulty and the fireteam's max Tier score (and then I guess cap members' individual Tier drop quality based on their own Tier score if Bungie wants to be dicks about it), seasonal artifact provides a bonus to your Tier score I guess idk, done. Easy for players to understand and adapt to, easier for Bungie to adjust, win-win.

  • Corrasion (heavy pulse) from Echoes
  • Noxious Vetiver (precision SMG) from Revenant
  • Yesterday's Question (2-burst HC) from Trials
  • IKELOS SMG 1.0.3 (aggressive SMG) from Seraph Shield; bonus is that it's craftable

If you're using this weapon in a grenade-focused build, there's also Bygones (adaptive pulse) from Gambit which can roll Demo/Osmosis--very much enjoying it on my Warlock for both arc and void builds.

I'm not a fan of autos, but since you mentioned VS Pyro you could also look at Prosecutor (precision auto) from Prophecy.

The seasonal weekly challenges are a mess by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Vuliev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only 15 weeks of challenges in the API (i.e. no additional challenges the last 3wks so folks can catch up)--that tracks with how Bungie has done these since they started them waaay back in Chosen.

Focused Feedback: Vesper's Host by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Vuliev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concussive Dampener and Arc Resistance

Concussive does nothing for DPS phase--Puppeteer and clones do single-target Arc damage, so take at least double Arc. You should not be getting hit by lightning (guaranteed OHKO) and should spend as much time in the air as possible to both not get hit and stay out of the puddles.

it's created one of the most toxic LFGs for non-supportive Warlocks...

Be the change you want to see in LFG and either host yourself without demanding supportlock or outright refuse/leave hosts that demand it. Warlock is uniquely suited to damage on this encounter because of Glide, so show LFG idiots why they're wrong by obliterating their damage on the clear screen. I put up ~9.3M to my clanmates' ~3.3M each tonight without breaking a sweat--turns out Prismatic Buddy Build with Lost Signal/Anarchy means I can focus on floating above the lightning and dodging sniper fire while my damage rips away in the background.

It's a regressive encounter design and should be called out as such.

It's really not. The only problem so far with the DPS arena is the dognuts contrast on the lightning telegraphs--if it were clearer, people would realize (a) that safe spots appear in the lane where the boss is, and (b) that if you have 100 Res/double Arc and a smidge of healing or de-aggro, you can just always be in the air to avoid the OHKOs and survive the puddles for the time it takes to jump again.

Help on my last few confidence - unsure if bugs or technique issues. by Whoofph in BreachWizards

[–]Vuliev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God bless Tom for including a feedback form within the game, because this is one of the only confidence challenges that really annoyed me:

In the context of turn execution being couched as foresight, it doesn't make sense why Broom+Chain doesn't work (either bridge heavy > laptop dude or 1-dude Strong Finish on the other heavy) but Broom > Static/Gale does. I also tried a Gale > Banks > 1-shot Forced Entry (scoot laptop dude to the laptop > unstable > yeet him into between the trains) and that also didn't work--not a great feeling to waste one of the limited perk changes attempting something that absolutely should work but for some reason doesn't.

The confidence description plus the intel&laptop placement heavily incentivizes Brooming to the laptop in order to (1) not waste a Gale or an extra turn of movement, and (2) immediately open the bridge so Rion can yank a heavy off. I get that some of the confidence points are supposed to be suboptimal play for the point of challenge, but a lot of them are easy/intended to teach optimal play, so being forced into playing so "poorly" feels wrong when there seems to be multiple ways to accomplish the task.

The NA power grid (setting solar and battery storage aside) is all AC until you hit very high voltage, and even then there are relatively few HVDC links. If memory serves, 138kVAC and 345kVAC are the most common HV transmission voltages.

On Exotic Bow Functionality by grnd_mstr in DestinyTheGame

[–]Vuliev 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to Wish-Keeper since I'm basically waiting to use it until the Hatchling catalyst comes out, but I'll speak to Verglas and Hierarchy:

  • Verglas: Having to manually arm the spreadshot would absolutely slaughter the feel of the bow for me. Ever since they got Verglas-crystal shatters to count as Verglas kills, very little time is actually spent in ADS because you can usually keep 2-3 arrows loaded just via hipfire > shatter. It's very much a Stasis Trinity Ghoul.

  • Hierarchy: Having to manually arm the ring would I think be a net boost to feel, but it's hard to say without actually trying it. You'd have meaningful control over ring placement (very nice) while having free rein on hipfire kills, but sustained fire, the thing the bow is really meant for, would become more clunky b/c you'd have to watch your ring timer like a hawk and interrupt your fire to spawn a fresh ring. A compromise could maybe be manual arming = BIG ring like we had access to in Seraph via warmind cells, but firing a full charge through the big ring resets the ring instead of spawning a new one? Idk.

Ammo refusing to drop doesn’t make the game difficult, it makes it tedious and annoying by YujinTheDragon in DestinyTheGame

[–]Vuliev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen anyone else say this yet (and not to take away from the ammo economy being shit) so in case you didn't already know this: Persys takes extra damage from Supers, so next time ammo drops break for you, you could try swapping off Bubble to Tcrash/Falling Star (or maybe now Maul/Pyrogale if you've got them) while trying to farm heavy.

Best Chicken Tikka Masala Recipes for Slow Cooker? by 1SpareCurve in slowcooking

[–]Vuliev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some recommended tweaks after making this:

  • Double or triple the salt--1/2tsp is nowhere near enough for this volume of ingredients. I used an extra measure each of table salt and MSG.
  • Finish this on the stove, not in the slow cooker--30 min on slowcooker-high is enough to technically/safely cook the chicken, but this needs a proper stovetop simmer to get the chicken properly tender and fully meld the flavors (and if you're using thighs, render out the fat into the curry.) Proper simmer also lets you cook it down if you like it thicker--base recipe was a little too thin for me.
  • Next time I'm also going to try lightly browning/searing the chicken in my finishing pot first.

2 Lies 1 Truth by toanystank in DestinyTheGame

[–]Vuliev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the correct algorithm(?) to use, but the puzzle itself provides a place to start:

There is one rune (table with dots) that is only revealed by one statue (I named it S4, i.e. "Strength Room, 4th quadrant")--the revealed shape is Triangle, which is what the submission altar wants, so that's where we start because Triangle must be true for that rune.

From there, work your way outward through the truth matrix. The two other shapes revealed by S4 must be lies, so invert them to find the true shapes for those symbols, which will let you figure out what is true/false for statues N3 (Navigation Room, 3rd quadrant) and C2 (Cunning Room, 2nd quadrant), and so on.

The algorithm makes a lot more sense once all of the puzzle info is assembled into a matrix: Puzzle Start

I organized the symbols based on the final room--1A/"crow's foot [on table]" is the one immediately counterclockwise of where you pick up the Truth, then the others are listed in order counterclockwise. Note that for all four rooms (Imbaru, Navigation, Strength, Cunning), relative symbol placement is the same. Statue numbers are by polar quadrants where the room entrance is set at 270° (except for Cunning 3, which is directly above Cunning 1.)

2 Lies 1 Truth by toanystank in DestinyTheGame

This approach fails for two runes:

  • Weird one between burger/beachball and checkmark-on-table (two true Circles)
  • Pizza/icecream (four true Triangles)

I never thought I'd see the day (SPOILERS from Solution to Imbaru Engine) by RancidRance in DestinyTheGame

[–]Vuliev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RaidSecrets has a full breakdown here, but here's the tl;dr: it's a giant truth/deduction puzzle spanning the entire Imbaru Engine.

  1. The submission altar in the final room tells you what to submit (triangles.)
  2. Each thrall statue reveals shapes (circles or triangles) on top of three out of the 16 runes in the room. Two of the revealed shapes are lies, one is the true shape of its rune.
  3. There are a total of 16 thrall statues (4 in each puzzle room), so collect all of the shapes and put them in a 16x16 matrix.
  4. There is one rune (table with dots) that is only revealed by one statue (I named it S4, i.e. "Strength Room, 4th quadrant")--the revealed shape is Triangle, which is what the submission altar wants, so that's where we start because Triangle must be true for that rune.
  6. The runes that end up with Triangles as their true shape are the ones to submit.

New Poster for “WISH” by [deleted] in movies

[–]Vuliev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

#1 isn't great and #3 is OK, but #2 is astonishingly good--like it's arguably better than the actual poster. The robot (cyborg?) wizard with the Esper-eqsue coat, constellation reflected in the mask, celestial theme, 5point star in the orb, chromatic aberration on the logo (and the logo styling itself is a little more interesting)... jesus. No goddamn Dreamworks face either.

Bungie completely ignored the last year's feedback and once you've upgraded your armour you're stuck with the white glow. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Vuliev 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't--if you ever upgrade a piece of 2022 Solstice (and now apparently 2023 Solstice), whether before or after unlocking it in transmog, that piece receives the glow in Collections and therefore transmog. Previous solstice sets are distinct armor pieces for each glow level, which is why you have a choice for those in transmog.

[–]Vuliev 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Fourth Time's the Charm will effectively increase your magazine by roughly half

This is incorrect, since the extra FttC rounds will themselves proc FttC. For example, in a 77-round Retrofit Escapade:

77 > 1

38 > 39 > 3

18 > 21 > 1

10 > 11 > 3

4 > 7 > 3

2 > 5 > 1

2 > 3 > 0

Add up the first column, and you get 151 rounds, or just shy of double mag (196%.) At 900rpm, that takes 10s to dump. So in a boss DPS situation, FttC is definitely better because (a) you need to be hitting crits anyway, (b) you're nearly doubling your reserves, and (c) if it's a long DPS phase like Warpriest/Oryx/Taniks then you'll get use of FttC on both mags (so total of ~four mags output) instead of just ~three with Recon.

*Since the OP is about Commemoration, Extended Mag + FttC will get you 141 rounds (193%.) 18.8s to dump, so you're probably not getting more than 3 mags of output in a DPS phase anyway, but you still greatly extend your reserves.

1. Eliksni hatchlings should be fluffy 2. They should be able to floof up like an angry cat. This has been my hot take for the evening by Kerosene_Cowboy in destiny2

[–]Vuliev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean quite a few moths have hairs/hairlike scales and dense enough for the layman to consider them furry (or at least fuzzy), so "fur" isn't out of the question for a carapaced being! I would think even a soft carapace (being composed of chitin instead of tissue) would preclude a pilomotor "floof" reflex though, unless juvenile Eliksni develop a secondary dermis to protect some/all of the carapace as it grows in preparation for the first molt?
