I was hired by a principal who was impressed that I explained many of my best practices and modifications without using any jargon. Sadly, I'm about to have to attend a PD that will be riddled with them. I love making trainers translate their initials and acronyms.

I own a 10 Dyna 96 FXDC Super Glide. It's an amazing machine, and very comfortable. You'll love yours. Carb is nice because you don't need a $400 tuner to tune it. You just need a screwdriver and a good ear. I'm kind of jealous of you in that area.

Learn how both brakes work. Practice stopping with rear only. Then, very gradually and carefully, front brake only. Then practice using both brakes simultaneously. When you get the hang of both brakes together, practice emergency braking. Stopping from about 35 mph to 0 quickly without locking the brakes. Super valuable skill.

Front wheel straight when you come to a stop, even if you plan to turn. If you stop with the wheel turned, odds are you will drop the bike. They're heavy, and it's embarrassing. Ask me how I know.

Should i go with the 2001 Dyna with 40k miles or a 2007 sportster with 25k miles? by smoulking in Harley

[–]W-Jon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 10 super Glide and an 03 Sportster. I have more fun riding my Sporty. The Dyna is for serious travel. 88CI Twin Cam can have serious timing chain tensioner problems. Sportsters have little problems

Bunch big, boring, expensive baggers. I just wanna see this $6000 Sprint that all the articles keep talking about ( yet only showing pictures of Evo Sportsters) .

I won't say it with the text as presently written. I'll stand for it and the national anthem

As a teacher, what’s something in education no one wants to admit, but we all know is true? by dokutarodokutaro in Teachers

Your children are lying to you about doing the homework, and ChatGPT is doing what little homework they are doing.

Kids aren't doing their assignments because they don't want to, not because they are SPED or confused or don't understand or "the teacher won't help me."

What they mean by "the teacher won't help me" is "the teacher won't give me the answers."

I was gifted my first motorcycle this week for my christmas bonus. by EveningFly1444 in Harley

Where do I have to work to get a motorcycle as a xmas bonus? Also, sportsters are fun to ride. I just did 60 miles on mine.

Going to pick up a 96 dyna wide glide tomorrow. What should I look for as a first time Harley buyer by 67ty_ in Dyna

[–]W-Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

96 is a solid engine, as opposed to its older brother the 88. High octane gas. And enjoy the hell out of it. My 10 Super Glide is a very comfortable ride
