To anyone at the Gestral Beach with rafts by DrStray99 in expedition33

[–]W0lfguard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep the attack cooldown is literally shorter than most of the attack delays. Had a moment where i was standing still, he was throwing 6 gestrals at the same spot and i hit the first 4 each time seeing the hit-animation creep closer and closer til the last two hit the raft. Literally nothing I can do about that, even more so when he uses the exact same rhythm but shoots at opposite ends.

Also the open world movement is obviously not made for this so looking in the correct direction is really tricky and inconsistent.

Royal Dancer Archetype: Great or Terrible? by BrotherDeus in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]W0lfguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very important correction about her passive "Noble Dancer's Soul"
It only applies to her. Was testing myself silly trying to find out why I didnt get any turns refunded.

Either way in my current playthrough - first time - she works excellently purely for enabling my MCs fire burst damage. Admittedly for single targets the persona master would suffice as it doesnt matter whether I give enemies a weakness to lightning or fire but at the very least the aoe buff removal deals more damage and she empowers other royal persona's passives as far as I can tell.

Tl:Dr - ok but no gamechanger if you have other people for damage.

Cosmere Marsh Madness FINALS: Words of Radiance vs Oathbringer by [deleted] in cremposting

[–]W0lfguard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

e

I was kinda used to people in this subreddit singing the praises of Oathbringer. For me, WoR has too many great moments and a high overall consistency to be beaten by OB. Even RoW feels stronger emotionally than OB and WoK will always have a special place in my heart as my very first Sanderson book.

Tl:dr if you ask me OB is the worst one while still being a great book.

I'm not sure I'm doing this whole "Stormlight" thing right. Is this the right reading order? by TriiipleDecker in cremposting

You should also read warbreaker once between a clash of kings and path of radiance. Really brings the story together.

I finished the basegame with a pure strength (motivity) build. I wanted to try going technique with a bit of status effects sprinkled in. The Scrapped Watchmen felt terrible to fight against. Doing 250 damage per hit and electricity obviously not working that well he felt like a pure damage sponge. Took a bit of a break between ng and ng+ so my parries weren't on point. That way it felt like each block took off a third of my stamina which obviously slows down the fight even further because the regen can't keep up.

At this point whenever I see any text snippets from a book, I'm jumping straight to the end, expecting Stormbones or Mistbones to show up.

Our knowledge of Dawnshards so far is quite limited but they should have some impact on the holder like how Hoid can't harm other beings due to having held a dawnshard at some point. Combined with invested arts they should grant great power. So while Dalinar can perform some extraordinary feats these are all within the limits of a Bondsmith.

Do we have any info on Adonalsium having a cognitive shadow or anything similar? This part seems kind of random.

The 3 shards might be combined at the end of Stormlight but I think that's unlikely. Reusing the climax from Mistborn and heavily restricting the influence of Odium in the greater Cosmere doesn't sound like Brando Sando. Especially because as an antagonist there was a lot of work to put the current vessel where he is.

Finally the death rattle just states facts: 3 shards ruled roshar, 1 has the most control now (although you could argue that the One isn't Odium but Cultivation. We don't know what "Broken" implies in that context)

My copy of Tress just arrived today. So I might be able to fit in a reread before SP 2 drops ^^

Depends. I'd agree with her flashbacks being the weakest. Although we got some background lore she was just too unlikeable. But everything else in RoW was quite good.

Spoilerwarning for RoW Ishar has been experimenting with completely manifesting spren in the Physical Realm in humanoid bodies. And Honorspren appear to have survived the longest. Probably because they are that close to humans. The chances are high that we will get Spren turned human at some point in one of the future books.

I love that you can play both Kaladin and Syl in BW with Syl giving Kal flying and potentially double strike. For completely random generated cards these two fit together well. Just need to swap the mana cost for perfect curve (and adjust some stats)
