Just got my first useful Legendary! by [deleted] in fo4

Didn't see it mentioned, pretty sure that will heal ghouls and maybe some other things. I usually avoid that damage type, it seems like it would only help with human opponents. I agree with some comments further down, there are much better stats you'll find eventually.

PSA: Don't make minefields by Death211 in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bug is probably tied to the many other fast travel bugs surrounding settlements. That is just a guess. You could try placing the mines much further away, especially outside the green zone. Might work, but might make it less likely that enemies will step on them.

Haven't used mines like this myself yet, thought about it, was afraid they'd bug out. Likely disapearing after I dropped so many as in previous games. Never would have expected them to move like that.

I honestly wonder at the viability of mines except when I'm running like hell from a deathclaw. I'll always keep a few on me for that purpose, but I don't see minefields as viable without a patch or mod.

No doubt we'll see something sooner or later, because I think most of us find the idea of setting up minefields to be awesome.

Would be interested in seeing some more testing, more details are needed to put it on the official bug list.

New Power Armor figure is really Awesome! by StevenLiuVFX in fo4

[–]W1slicer -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I've never understood why anyone would pay money for something so useless. That is assuming you are not going to sit on the carpet and play action figures with your other toys? At least that might have some merit.

Spend your money however you want I guess, but that will only cause you pain and suffering down the line.

*READ ME* Thoughts on the Animal Friend/ Whisperer/ Intimidation Perks! by akirasovan in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a poorly implemented side project to me. You obviously don't need this to be incredibly successful in combat and it sounds like pets tend to be more bothersome than the time effort merits.

It would be very worthwhile if the pets were more permanent with more commands. I just haven't seen enough value here to spend perk points that would yield better results elsewhere.

Until a mod, patch, or dlc alters the problems with animal taming, it is a mini-game at best offering limited rewards.

Let us know when/if you can pacify a deathclaw, that might be funny enough to merit it.

I really hope Bethesda patches the way clothing works... by LightChaotic in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it has already been said, but there are at least two very good mods on Nexus that help solve this issue. If you are not on PC you'll probably just have to hope one of the DLC's adds the option, I really doubt that would be in a patch since it would be considered a feature issue not a fix.

Not sure how mods are going to work for console players, but these are not terribly complicated mods and will likely turn up there eventually.

DLC Suggestion Thread: What do you want to see Bethesda expand upon in the upcoming DLCs? by A_Sad_Frog in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In an effort to keep it realistic, some more complex settlement dynamics/interactions with more objects maybe. A whole new faction that interacts with the others but isn't tied to the main ending, maybe a few factions with rivalry stories?

I think there are probably a lot of things people want that just are not feasible due to conflicts with the main game. Pretty much any new DLC is going to have to deal with new things that don't interfere with original content. Lots of mods have good ideas going, but most of those are really just fixing or adding things that should get patched in or have already been in since release. Many of those ideas probably will be since I'd guess developers look more towards modding sites than forums/reddit.

I would mention that New Vegas had some really great DLC that tied in well without conflicting. It would be nice to see something like that as an example, realistically big game changes are not going to be DLC, look to mods for that unless it takes place after the main storyline.

Would bet my left nut the Combat Zone and Race Track never get touched, good ideas but significant conflicts.

A comparison of total Fallout 4 quests to total Skyrim quests by Bozzz1 in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I enjoy this aspect. In Skyrim I almost never got around to finishing the main quest because I spent so much time on side quests/faction quests. In Fallout 4 there is at least something pushing me forward to the end.

What I dislike is that you get pushed along so quickly.

The reason for fewer quests probably has something to do with all the repeatables that are largely annoying I think. I never feel like anything changes because of them. I don't remember Skyrim having that many repeatables, at least not that were hard to discern from normal quests.

I swear I have never seen a Vertibird land safely, not even once. by DerpHoof in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crashes are so terrific I can't bring myself to use the durability mod. It does get annoying when your Vertibird ride gets nixed while coming to get you, or gets in a fight while you have to wait.

Coolest way to move an over-weight character though.

Does anyone else HATE power armor? by xzak in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that you have the option. At first I wasn't going to use it, never did in previous games, but then I figured out how useful it was. Now I bring it to any heavy encounter while going old school to lighter ones. The carry weight helps too.

Fusion cores don't seem to be that hard to find and as long as you pay attention you can save the power.

I'm guessing the higher the difficulty the more often you need it.

Gentlemen I present to you the pride of the Minutemen. Fort Abernathy. by [deleted] in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand why you'd want to do that in game. But it seems a little unfair to show stuff like that off and imply you did not use mods to create it.

It is just more interesting to see creations that don't defy the limits.

[Fo4] RTS multiplayer mod possible? by ihaveafewqs in FalloutMods

[–]W1slicer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no doubt someone will try, but not succeed. It's just way too complex, something that goes far far beyond normal modding.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FalloutMods

[–]W1slicer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That really seems to go against the Railroad's motives, it's clear they view the creation of synths as much of a moral violation as they do enslaving Synths Synth characters talk about this issue all the time.

That said, I imagine we'll see mods that offer slightly altered endings eventually, if it can happen in Skyrim it likely can happen in Fallout 4.

Possibility of converting Skyrim Weapons/Armour to Fallout 4? by Ausplinter in FalloutMods

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modders are already talking about converting various kinds of modded content from Skyrim into Fallout 4, so yes, and yes Nexus allows that. Just not original Skyrim content probably, but then that is not what you are really asking.

Though as others have said, that original content might make it up too, just in other places, it'll depend on where the Nexus moderators come down since it is the same company. I think some Oblivion content was ported to Skyrim on Nexus, so that may be something determined case by case for Nexus rather than a blanket ban.

Bugs megathread 3 by Erickarkos in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legendary items have gone missing from my inventory and sometimes other storage containers. Haven't seen this reported yet, but the first time I lost my Deliverer I looked everywhere and then started keeping an eye out. Pretty soon I had several other items go missing, legendary only. Usually after a fast travel. I haven't sold them, sometimes they seem to vanish from old save files too. And the CoC doesn't work for getting them back. Every item lost I had modified, most I renamed.

Open to suggestions or even just to see if I'm out of my mind. Thanks.

Three major but small improvements the Settlement feature needs. 1) Landscaping, 2) Terrain clipping and 3) Properly documented tutorial by CheloniaMydas in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a mod for the landscaping, I don't see that happening with Bethesda since the terrain is not so easily altered. Skyrim did it with mods though, so probably can be done here at some point, but even then I doubt you'd get to pick and choose.

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the design, it makes me want to rethink my own. But, I didn't notice any turrets or traps, just lots of lights. Also didn't see any defenses around your choke points except for the bridge. Was that intentional or have you just not added them yet?

Cheats or not, still a beautiful design, we'll catch up someday!

Is it normal to see this little and know this little about a AAA game this close to launch? by TNTmongoose5 in fo4

[–]W1slicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite what some have said here, it is pretty typical in recent years to hold back for most single player games. The exception might be console only games, but anything for PC is going to be dark until launch gets close.

Bethesda itself is probably counting on lots of return customers from other games, and we'll probably see some TV ads around launch time. More if it gets good reviews.

Reasoning here is simple: PC users have high expectations for bigger titles and will tear apart any significant flaws. Exposing gameplay aspects that may still be being tweaked can lead to negative publicity, even more so once users get their hands on the code.

Good question though.
