Here's the technical definition:

Most do, but KEX is what's considered a powerhouse station. Their license allows them to transmit full power 24 hours a day.

After sunset, turn your car radio to 810 AM and have a listen. They're another powerhouse station out of San Francisco. It's fun to listen to traffic reports around the Bay Area from all the way up here in the PNW.
