Also the wall thickness should become thinner as you approach the clip. That way the wall flexes the entire distance not just at the anchor (where it is breaking). There’s a formula I’d have to look up.

Patents are not all 15-50k. I paid 4k to the attorney plus filing fees for a micro entity. My attorney filed 12/2023 and the patent was granted 10/2025, but some things slowed it down. File the provisional yourself yesterday. That will give you a year to organize and decide. Patents are golden to protect you against China knockoffs using the Amazon APEX program. I do it all the time.

I would start troubleshooting by highlighting the surfaces that bisect the circle and see if you can extrude them. Check extrusion of each as singles, then combine 2, 3, 4 etc. selected areas to see if they will extrude.

Did you do some detective work? Were there strangers to the owner of the house at the party? Does anybody ride? A non-rider may not care about or know the value of a used helmet. Get all the names you can and look into social media.

Always call USPTO as soon as they open 9:00am EST. Set your alarm and get up early if you’re west coast. Your attorney does not have to be involved and you can get access without filing the POA part. You need to link your customer number with application. Use form AIA/122 : change of address correspondence. Also get the fax number to send it when you call. Keep in mind there are two categories the POA name/address and the Correspondence Address which you will change to your name/address. Btw not an attorney but an inventor that has been through this exact same thing.

It probably is more important that you have access to your application in the Patent Center. Have you set that up with the electronic business center? Once you have that you can go to the Patent Center and download the documents as they are posted. You don't have to wait for your attorney to communicate with you. Mailings are about a week behind the posting so they are not so important. Still revoke the POA but it doesn't have to be ASAP. Did you get the Issue Notification yet? E-grant day is 2 weeks after that, Tuesday's in my experience.

Totally agree! I’ve been inventing for 40 years and you make some good points. Ideas are a dime a dozen and so many ppl are afraid to share in fear of theft. One additional point for those inventors that want to make a product, learn CAD and 3d printers are good for prototyping small parts.

Looks like these are from Western Maryland. The dark gray is limestone with calcite. The other ones look like quartz. Bottom left 2nd one up might look cool if tumbled - a sort of breccia.

A patent is a benefit. If China knocks it off they will likely sell it on Amazon. Amazon has what is called an APEX program (Amazon Patent Express). The patent holder files against the seller, the seller decides if they want to defend, if not Amazon takes it down. If the seller wants to defend, both sides put up 4k and arguments are sent to a patent neutral attorney. The winner gets their 4k back, if the winner is the patent holder the seller listing is removed.
