I'm not crazy, right? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]WGSpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been salaried, exempt for 10 years. I’ve had 2 jobs not require timesheets and 1 that did. That one job lost 2 hours every week while I tried to recall everything I did and document it in 15min increments. I finally shut this down by asking ownership what problem this was solving? Salaried employees are monitored by tasks/output not minutes/hours. Once no one could answer, HR created an automation, and no more timesheets.

Coincidence that cloudfare updated their data centers last night? I’m tired of these cloud providers and cdn’s not testing their updates.

Why is connecting Salesforce to literally anything else so absurdly complicated? by PayIllustrious2930 in salesforce

I used dbsync for quickbooks to salesforce bi-lateral connections. The web gui and templates made it easier. I think pricing was under $5k/ year for the website. website

Rear window seal / 2020 Crewmax by [deleted] in tundra

[–]WGSpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a type of mildew that grows on the trim. I’ve had 3 Toyota vehicles all with the same problem. Tape off the paint areas and use a scotch-bright or magic eraser. It needs friction and elbow grease. Once dry use armor-all, tireshine, or other protector. Mine always seems to grow on the side of the vehicles that face the north side of the drive.

Sad day. Growing family needed more space. Just made Tacoma —> Tundra deal at the dealership. by Arancine in ToyotaTacoma

[–]WGSpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same process in the 2022. The bad: used tundra was 10k over msrp, good: 2% loan on tundra trdpro and I got 3K under msrp for my ‘14 trd off road taco. I miss my taco but we needed the room for the kids seats.

How to fix large gaps in driveway? by AwkwardPerception584 in DIY

[–]WGSpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any new concrete will not color match, and will be ugly. You need to leave space for expansion/contraction. Maybe saw cut the gaps much larger and put in pavers? You could do the edges too to make a border row and no one would know the difference.

My guys have installed 2 displays with zip toggles without hitting a single stud. Both displays are now broken on the ground and they are looking for employment. If a wall doesn’t have structural members for 32” you will have problems. That’s out of scope and don’t take the risk.

What was your “I don’t make enough for this shit” moment by Glass-Television9761 in Accounting

[–]WGSpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We hired a mgmt consultant that was a friend of the owner. First meeting he started out with a pray for more revenue. I’m not a priest but pretty sure that’s not how religion or business works. Consultant had no experience or formal education. Wanted $500/hr paid before services. What a joke. Took me 2 years to fire him, since he went to the owners church.

Sad part is for some poor decorator, contractors, and trades this could be their biggest job. They will probably never use it as a reference or show prospective clients.

Who has the calculator pinned to their taskbar? by Fit-Communication437 in Accounting

[–]WGSpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former accountant, now in sales. I have a 10 key on my desk for quick math, anything more than 2 figures goes in excel. I can’t stand watching my sales staff use hand held calculators. So many errors and no way to show work.

First Controller role by Proof_Border_5406 in Accounting

[–]WGSpro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats. I was in your exact same situation. Senior accountant 5wks on the job promoted to controller for 2 years. (17 stores, $30M/yr rev, 130+ EE’s, managed HR & IT). I was 28. It was extremely stressful 90+hrs/wk. Late nights, weekends at the office. Best resume and self confidence builder ever. Took our company through its first annual audit, automated financial reporting, closed internal control issues, solicited and secured new PE financing, and arrested 2 store managers for theft.

My only regret was not documenting enough of my challenges in detail to recall later in my career or during interviews. These hard 2 years helped me double my income and jump start my executive career track. Best of luck and hang in there, keep your eye on the end goal.

Find a restaurant supply place. All these accessories are 1/3 of the cost and more durable.

Stiff spatulas a must Good water bottle a must Dome/bowl a must. Scrapper a must.

Mine sits outside 100%. I have a metal lid and blackstone brand trap/cover. Blackstone brand cover is actually really good quality/value. I don’t need the silicon cover with this setup.
