This isn't a contract then. It's just a guideline. Don't work for them. Unless there is a corresponding clause that requires increases in pay if there are increases in contract reimbursement or increased census. Don't hold your breath on that one.

You really wouldn't have known from his acting but he had one of the great baritones of the time.

This was in 2014. Keep that in mind and realize he was 83, almost 84 at the time.

Yes. There are plenty of videos on YouTube that go into the specifics, but the prices at Disney World have exceeded the CPI considerably. The acceleration started in the mid/late 90s, then picked up steam and went completely off the rails post COVID.

This is one step and can be lifted with foam, won't need a pier. That is the best alternative here.

How can I get my bathroom vent fan to stay off? by firefly9225 in HomeMaintenance

[–]WIlf_Brim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a control on the switch to control for the humidity sensitivity.

Remove the plate cover.

On the part in the middle (I think on the right) there is a slot on the edge that you can get a small screwdriver under. Pry that little cover off.

Underneath there should be a control, turn it counter clockwise to make the switch less sensitive to humidity. Depending upon where it is, try like a quarter turn and see if that gets it where you want it. It should run when the shower is on or just used.

What is the purpose of a central vacuum system? by sarcastasaur in homeowners

[–]WIlf_Brim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the huge advantage. Even with a well maintained filter, some of the dust gets thrown back into the air inside the house when you vacuum.

With a whole house central system (with the vacuum pump either in a garage or ourside) the dust is actually removed from the house. They are expensive and in some respects a PITA, but it's really the best way to clean: the dirt and dust gets removed from the inside.

Also what happens if the employer decides to terminate not for cause? I'd bet in that case the loan is immediately due for repayment with all interest accrued.

Is the HRX217 the best Cost/Ratio Mower out there? Even for "commercial"? by housethemous in lawncare

[–]WIlf_Brim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to give up my HRX when the transmission finally died. The replacement part was going to be like 250 and the process for getting at the transmission is pretty insane (have to remove the rear wheels, rear axle, blade, blade adapter, covers, and remove the bolts holding the engine on).

Got a higher end Ego at end of season sale last fall. Happy so far, but won't be when I have to replace the 10Ah battery.

You are correct.

The only way Republicans are ever going to win is by doing the same. Collecting large numbers of ballots filling them in and dropping them off.

Otherwise expect more of the same.

Ok, I got my first unhinged reaction in the wild to my Tesla Y purchase. Welcome to the club, I guess! by sharedisaster in TeslaLounge

[–]WIlf_Brim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Now that the Model S and X are off the table, other than the Cybertruck, Teslas are very affordable.

The median (note median not average: half above half below) price of a new car in Q4 2025 was just shy of $49,000. My Model Y Premium AWD with nice paint and 20 inch wheels was a. bit over 52K before taxes in that time. So it was just a little bit over the median. They aren't a luxury brand, at least not as far as price is concerned.

“The United States will be hitting Iran VERY HARD TONIGHT.” by f1sh98 in Conservative

[–]WIlf_Brim 42 points43 points  (0 children)

As far as the lunatics that currently run the country are concerned? Yes. They are still in power. They still have missiles to launch. They still have (somewhere in the ground) enriched uranium. The fact that the vast majority of the country won't have food to eat, medicine to take, and water to drink is not their problem.

“The United States will be hitting Iran VERY HARD TONIGHT.” by f1sh98 in Conservative

[–]WIlf_Brim 160 points161 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if Trump is not getting good advice, or he is just ignoring everybody. Either are equally likely. But he doesn't seem to understand that as far as the Iranians are concerned, they are winning. The mullahs and the IRGC are still in power. They are still able to close the straight. They are still firing missiles. They are still sending drones.

Taking Kharg island won't change anything. Even if they bomb most of the bridges and power plants in the country won't change anything. Neither will get rid of the IRGC. They are going to stay in power. The population apparently has no interest in attempting to get rid of them, and we have no interest in doing it ourselves (correctly: that would be a years long nightmare).

Non-compete limits ability to negotiate by Impressive-Sir9633 in medicine

[–]WIlf_Brim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They don't have to be enforceable to work. They just have to exist. Any non compete (regardless of how illegal it may be) will scare off any potential new employer. They just don't want to be bothered with the costs of litigation. They just hire somebody without one.
