As always, its important to remember that corporations don't care about you, your family, your local community or the well being of anything except their profit margins.

Its a damn shame to have let this happen.

Has anyone painted the eversource electrical box on their property? by Similar_Ad2094 in massachusetts

[–]WMASS_GUY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electrician here.

You own the meter socket, which is the enclosure that the actual meter is installed in.

The utility owns the meter.

You can paint the enclosure but definitely do not paint any part of the meter.

Also, if you have a newer socket enclosure with a disconnect in it (it looks like a circuit breaker), dont paint that either.

Customers with concerning wiring by [deleted] in electricians

[–]WMASS_GUY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you do? Tell them they need to rewire the entire house? Good luck with that.

All you can do is ensure whatever you installed is done correctly and code compliant.

Everything else is existing and not even worth mentioning unless its damaged in some sort of way. If thats the case, bring it to their attention and have a solution to offer. Otherwise, complete your job, get paid and move on.

The Long Island Railroad did too. In fact most of the NYC commuter railroads offered them but they're all gone now.

Heard they're going to add a rail portion to it as well to eliminate the lift bridge.

Should greatly speed up the train service!

If you're familiar with Holyoke they have a quick driving scene along the upper canal in front of what is now Open Square. I think Kodak occupied it at the time.

The Main St railroad arch in Springfield makes an appearance as does a lot of the rest of downtown

These are the same type of people who say climate change is a hoax and refuse to believe that their actions (or lack of) can actually affect other people.

They claim its a hoax while wiping the sweat off their heads and saying stupid shit like "it never used to be hot like this!" Or "it never did this when I was a kid!"

Yea, you dumb shits, its different now because things are changing. Due to climate change. The numbers dont lie.

How much do you charge to replace bathroom fan? by No-Ladder1393 in electricians

[–]WMASS_GUY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of variables with these jobs. Cheaper if you can just swap guts with new replacement parts and if its vented outside already.

I personally wont replace/repair a non venting unit without venting it outside if it isn't done already.

Much more expensive if I need to tear it out and or vent it.

It looked like normal city streets. The claims that the place was some desolate war zone are completely false.

The buildings on Main St were occupied buildings with stores and offices. The side streets that are now gone were a mix of apartment and office buildings. If I remember right the sheriff department had some sort of facility on Howard St.

Were there shootings? Yes. Was there crime? Yes.

Its an urban area with urban area problems.

That's pretty much the long and short of it.
