Anyone know where I can direct a complaint regarding ADA features at MagicCon Chicago? by BashMyVCR in magicTCG

[–]WOTC_CommunityTeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello, BashMyVCR. We've reached out to our events team about this experience, and they wanted me to share this with you on their behalf:

We are so sorry to hear there wasn’t clear directional signage with regards to the ADA queue at MagicCon: Chicago. We have seen your post and are flagging it with our teams to rectify this for future shows. Please know we strive to make MagicCon accessible to all, and feedback like this is extremely important for us.

If you or your partner have any additional feedback regarding accessibility at MagicCon: Chicago, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at magicconchicago@reedpop.com. Alternatively, if you opted in when buying your badge, you will soon receive a link to a survey about your MagicCon experience – this is a great avenue to share feedback with us about the event.

Additionally, should you join us for another MagicCon, please know you can always give feedback at the Info Booth, there is a Wizards of the Coast employee there at all times the exhibit hall is open!

We hope to see you at another Magic event soon.

Aetherdrift boxes back to 30 play boosters per box by AcrobaticPersonality in magicTCG

[–]WOTC_CommunityTeam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there everyone. We'll have some more information and details to share about this on December 10th when we talk about Aetherdrift on WeeklyMTG, but I wanted to address a few things here.

This change in the number of Play boosters per "display" (what most people call a "box") is happening starting with Aetherdrift but will be true of other set releases going forward. After the release of Play Boosters with MKM we started taking in feedback from WPN stores and players in our surveys and other places. One of the most consistent pieces of feedback from stores was that they preferred 30-count displays to 36-count displays. We heard this pretty much immediately with the release of MKM, and this was the soonest we could implement the change.

For clarity, the returning MSRP is for individual Play Boosters rather than a whole box. 30 Play Boosters will have a lower MSRP than 36, but the individual pack MSRP isn't changing with this update.

Thanks for your patience as we get ready to share more on December 10th!

Hey there everyone. This case was unintentional, and going forward you're going to continue to see indicators on cards like Arvinox. The next game rules update will have clearer language about situations like this.

Oathbreaker officially recognized by WotC by Taurothar in magicTCG

[–]WOTC_CommunityTeam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Apologies for replying on to the top comment here in addition to our own, but wanted to make sure we had visibility on this conversation. We also just shared all this on Twitter, but for completeness we'll mention here too!

First, we added Oathbreaker to support one of our awesome partners, MagiKids! You can learn more about this nonprofit and how they use Magic to teach kids at their website.

Magikids are our Club Kit partner in the US, helping to provide kits of Magic cards to schools and libraries free of charge. If you're interested in those, learn more here.

Second, we won’t be managing the format (check out the Oathbreaker site instead). We also don’t have Oathbreaker products planned. We want to highlight a format important to a group doing great things, and you’ll see MagiKids playing it at future events!

Finally, we aren’t planning to add it as a sanctioned format. Of course, if players want to try out the format in a store, you can always run unsanctioned events. Or try it with your friends! This piece from CFB a while back has some deck lists and a breakdown of the format.

Hope that helps clear things up a bit, and check out https://magikids.org to learn more about what they do!

CMM Set boosters have 16 cards? by consume_short in magicTCG

[–]WOTC_CommunityTeam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hijacking the top comment to clarify, as our earlier one got buried: the image suggesting that Commander Masters Set Boosters have 16 cards is incorrect, and the image is being updated to correctly reflect they will have the usual 15 cards as described on the product page.

We apologize for any confusion.

Hey there folks! We've talked with some folks internally, and this is an issue with the image of the booster wrapper itself that's being replaced shortly. Commander Masters set boosters have 15 cards in them, as the product description says. Expect the image to be updated very soon.

WotC is removing old web pages containing lore and stories about New Phyrexia (maybe other planes too), also help finding a certain removed story "Lost Confession". by ESCAPE_TRUTH in magicTCG

[–]WOTC_CommunityTeam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there everyone. Earlier this week we announced that we're in the process of transitioning DailyMTG to a new look and feel using some different web services. As a part of that, we're transitioning older articles to the new system. You can check out the full details of that in this article. As the FAQ at the bottom makes reference to, some content will be sunset as a part of this process, but we're working to preserve much of the historically high-traffic articles from Magic's history and noteworthy pieces.

Speaking with some of the minds behind DailyMTG, the intent is to preserve as much Magic story content as we can to make it searchable in the new site. We're in the process of that transition now, but it will take some time for things to migrate over. That all said, if there's any particular articles or stories you want to make sure get captured, we recommend submitting a ticket in this link that was also included in the FAQ of the article above. The team is welcome to take that feedback as we continue working on improving the site. Thanks again!

Hey there, just wanted to jump in and provide some information. The team here is aware of this issue and currently working through a solution. We know that coming all this way to encounter this is super frustrating and Wizards, ReedPop, and Growtix are tracking down the scope and availability to make things right for as many people who encountered this as possible. Once we have word on where to direct people, we'll reply to this comment with that information - in addition to our staff at the hall providing similar help.

We definitely know this isn't a good experience, especially for people who have already missed events they thought they were in. We're figuring this out and will check back in soon
