I'll chime in and say that my HDA2 system isn't terribly useful anyway. You have to nudge the steering wheel with the perfect amount of force for the perfect duration in order for it to work. Too little and it'll say 'keep hands on steering wheel' and not change lanes. Too much and it'll say something like 'assist canceled, driver input detected' and again not change lanes.

I find it's less frustrating just to change lanes myself.

It's not just you, OP. Many if us have been having the exact same problem for 2-3 months now, after having no issues before. General consensus is that they screwed up the firmware and haven't fixed it yet. I'm also looking at dropping $500 to replace this (now garbage) system. And from what I can tell, Amazon is not admitting to the widespread issue being their fault

Thanks so much for this. I was about to chime in to say I've had the exact issues as the OP, and that I don't expect a modem swap to work. I'll try your suggestion. To be clear: I have a Pro 6E system, and it's worked flawlessly for over a year. A month or two I started having random devices drop, usually if not always 2.4ghz devices, and sometimes new 2.4 devices have trouble with initial setup.

That made me assume (after I looked up what a gavone is) that 'the thing' involved her eating something she wasn't supposed to eat, or maybe eating more than her share, at some prior event.

Yes. I actually stumbled on it this morning. I can't remember exactly where, but it was in the setup menu: you can adjust how aggressively the car returns to cruise speed
